I’m sure he knew it all along. This was just for show to the leftist constituency.

Exactly, he was playing to the sky screamer base. He was pumping this in Twitter to rile up the insaniacs.

Only someone as fossilized as McConnell wouldn't know that it wouldn't matter what the Republicans did. The Democrats will change the rules to suit them.

There may be enough Democrats in the Senate if the Dems win the presidency and senate to stop court packing. But there certainly aren't enough in the House.

This is true.

After W, we were told the GOP would never win another presidential election. The demographics had moved to far away.

Well, after exactly 1 democrat POTUS the pendulum swung back. Now the Dems can't win because they're moving way too far left.

But the pendulum will swing back.

And back.

And back again.

And so on.

But both parties continue to move left...and that is what most concerns me, and why I voted for Trump 4 years ago. I wanted him to PUSH the Republican party back to the right or blow it up trying.

been saying this for the past 5+ yrs on this board....as myself, #henceDJT is a centrist.....the donks had no out at that point...

we have a best method relative to internal spending/trade wheeling-dealing president willing to play both sides of the aisle on policy but not the courts...

it is why he chose to run ®....

the donks' grip on conformistism is unacceptable...

I'm with you. What comforts me is knowing that ~300 conservative judges have been appointed to federal courts. With another 4 years, how many more judges will be appointed?

That's the key.

And that buys us time to move the center back toward the right.

RE: Hey Schumer
I'm old enough to remember what a shock it was when Gingrich's contract with America won the House. It had been 40 years since the Republicans had held the House. Everyone assumed the House was permanently Democratic. Republicans held an 8 seat majority for 2 years in the 50s and a larger majority for 2 years in the late 40s. And had has few as 88 seats during the Great Depression. From 1959 to 1994, Republicans were never even within 50 seats of the Democrats. 30 of those 36 years the Democrats had over a 60 seat plurality.

Hey Schumer
The House post office scandal and Rush hammered that mercilessly.

Then the (as you mention) simple genius of the Contract by Newt, and faith was restored to many that a balance could indeed happen again.

This election, in this weird-asss year with all its rollercoaster ups and downs, is easily the toughest one to make a call in what seems like forever.

‘16 was a coin flip, mainly cause there was no incumbent running, but neither outcome would have surprised me.

This one for me is the Forest Gump box of chocolates election. But I’ve gotta sneaking suspicion how I see this going.

Won't make any difference if the Demons win the WH, Senate and HofR, they'll just change the rules again or if they become Cuba they'll line them up against the wall and install their own. As if they needed SC justices at all after that.

RE: Hey Schumer
I wonder if Schumer and the Dems will continue their delay tactics given that the Majority favor confirming Barrett to Supreme Court, oppose court packing, polls show.
