Do they really need 6 days to figure out Clemson is the national game? It was last time. What other game could possibly top it?

Official: ACC Championship will be at 4pm ET as opposed to prime time. I assume it is to avoid the SEC and Big Ten in prime time. I think it's a good move and assuming no championship game at the same time on FOX and a Clemson/Notre Dame rematch might be the most watched game of the day.

The only possible competition in that time slot appears to be the Mountain West FCG... ACC FCG should crush that.

The reasons they are probably using a 6-day hold are:
1) to see which games are canceled by the pandemic - this game could be noon, 3:30 pm, or 7 pm on ABC, depending on what else is available (i.e. it may punch beyond its weight).
2) ESPN has a certain number of 6-day holds, and they don't carry over; it's a little like coaches who want to use all of their timeouts.

RE: Game Time Announcements/Speculation
The ACC finally announced Dec. 5 game times.

https://theacc.com/news/2020/11/29/acc-a...dec-5.aspx

Trevor Lawrence and Company will be prime time on ABC following two Big Ten games (assuming COVID-19's blessing), Ohio State-Michigan State and Indiana-Wisconsin.

Either the RSN's got to pick ahead of ACCN or the ACCN thinks UNC is an attractive enough a draw to overcome an FCS team.

Also notable is Duke is playing Miami instead of Florida State. Miami will play its first game since Nov. 14 while Florida State will miss its third straight game, having last played Nov. 14.

GT avoided Raycom deep into the season for a conference game. I'll call that a mild victory.

Any chance Clemson and duke play on December 12?

Logistically, it is possible. Both Clemson and Duke will have played nine conference games after this weekend, and neither have another conference game scheduled. I would say the possibility of this game happening are greater than a rescheduled game between Clemson and FSU.

Looks like most of the ACC basketball games are being bumped to ACC Network Extra.

They should dump the football games to ACC Network Extra. This is the ACC we're talking about right? Would I rather watch Duke basketball or Duke football?

It appears that there are two time slots reserved on ESPNews for ACC basketball, two slots on the RSNs and two basketball games have already been cancelled (Elon at UNC and W&M at UVA). Also, ND at Kentucky is an SEC controlled game, Clemson-Alabama is a neutral site game and Florida at Florida State is now listed as an ESPNU game at 11 am. There should be few if any ACCNX exclusive games.

Good. Sounds like it's a fluid schedule anyway, so no need to worry about it too much 5 days in advance.

RE: Game Time Announcements/Speculation
It appears that the Florida State-Wake Forest and Georgia Tech-Miami games on December 19 will both be at noon, with one on ACCN and one on the RSNs. The advance schedule for ACCN is showing a football game in that slot, as are the advance schedules for Fox Sport South and Yes Network. Basketball games previously schedules on the RSNs for early afternoon have been pushed back to 3:30 and 5:30 tip offs.

These games would complete ESPN and the ACC's obligations to the ACCN and the RSNs to provide 40 and 17 football games, respectively.
