Depending on what his pro prospects look like, would love to see him utilize that free year due to Covid if he wants to.

I love his game, but similar to Perry Young I don't see his size translating to playing LB in the league. I'd be willing to wager at 5'10 205 he would be the shortest and the lightest linebacker in the NFL.

I guess it all depends on where he is in life. Is he married, does he have children/one on the way? Does he have his degree or in a Master's Program. One of the things that is hard to tell a 22 year old that has been in college for 4-5 years that there is no rush to go leave the college bubble. They are ready to earn some real cash and move on with life. But the truth is, the money will be there-- there is no rush.

One only has to have attended to be included as alumni. Therefore, we can include the likes of George Clooney, Kenesaw Mountain Landis, and many athletes among us.

So true.

Think Stanford has any problem claiming Tiger Woods who dropped out? Or Harvard with dropout Bill Gates?

UC in the past has always defined "alumni" as those who attended. Most schools do. I'm guessing Reed College claims their dropout too, Steve Jobs.

You'd win that on the weigh metric alone. A review of NFL rosters on espn shows the shortest lb at 5'11 and the lightest lb 225ish. if he makes it, he'll either have to add about 20 lbs without losing any speed (the height is a negative but i think that is less of a dealbreaker than his weight) or make the switch to safety.

Years ago, Michael Boulware was an OLB at FUS that transitioned to strong safety. i looked up his metrics. 6'3" and 220 lbs.

Sandy Koufax is not an alumni. Neither is Col. Paul Tibbetts who dropped the first well deserved A Bomb on Japan. Attending does not make one an alumni in my mind. But if you accept any attendance as "alumni" they qualify.

Actually, no individual person is an alumni, because alumni is plural. The singular form is alumnus (or alumna, if a female). Isn't Latin taught in high school anymore? Three years of Latin was mandatory when I attended Walnut Hills back in the early Cretaceous.

All of my kids attended Mesa College (just down the road in Grand Junction, CO) for a year to get their 101-courses out of the way before transferring to either CU Boulder or CSU to earn their degrees. The youngest of them, a CSU grad, is 47 years old, and he still gets mail and appeals for money from the Mesa College (now Colorado Mesa University) alumni association from time to time.

Latin was easily the least picked foreign language in my high school. Most students chose Spanish or French. Our school also offered German and Japanese. Being a weeb I chose Japanese.

The only school that required it in my area was St Charles Prep. Even the other catholic schools moved away from it being a requirement.

He'll have a similar situation as Perry Young...will probably go to the CFL or (I would recommend) going some where as a Grad Assistant and trying to get into the coaching ranks if he wants to stick around the sport.

White was never recruited by TT. Fick gave him a call, day one on the job, as mentioned earlier. I remember White talking to Lance on the radio about it, shortly after his commitment. I originally wasn't happy with the Fickell hire (I wanted PJ Fleck), but I changed my opinion quickly with moves like this one.

Pretty unbiased (to be expected from a blowout loss) but it's funny to mention the missed facemask but not the missed targeting, pick plays, and missed PI call on Alec Pierce.. I'm nitpicking.. overall good write up.

RE: SMU Game
Some of you younger guys won't remember but there was a pretty good former NFL linebacker named Sam Mills that played primarily for the Saints from the late 80's to mid 90's. He made multiple pro bowls and was undrafted out of Montclair State FWIW. He was listed at 5'9" and 230 lb. He was an outlier for sure on the height metric but the dude was a playmaker with a motor to boot. White would need to add some weight on his frame but his heart and passion to play is there. Maybe he could squeak in as a low round draft pick or undrafted free agent. He's got to be getting some attention from scouts with his production this year - 44 tackles through 4 games!

Here's another pretty fair lb who by the way is not 5'11

Yeah, NFL players were smaller in the 70s. A lot smaller.

He’s a tweener. If he was a couple inches taller and twenty pounds heavier he would be at OSU.

More than a couple. Ohio State’s outside linebackers are both 6’3 240 and their second unit guys have similar length and freakish size, speed.

Even had Fleck done as well as Fickell, he definitely would've been gone after last season if not year 2. He seems like a definite nomad. I wouldn't be surprised if Michigan has him pegged as target number 1.

Michigan probably calls him but I think he stays at minnesota for a bit. It's big 10, so the path to the playoffs is there. He's in the west which he can win on a consistent basis and dodges having to play OSU/PSU/UM every year. And most importantly (I think for him) is he gets to be king. He puts his row the boat motto all over the uniform and apparel and gets to call the shots without boosters breathing down his neck. I doubt michigan let's him get away with stuff like that
