What a weird name for a college. Can anyone think of a weirder one? Slippery Rock is also in PA.

That's where Bill Cosby learned about roofies.

Slippery Rock, or temple?

Well, something got slippery somewhere

Someone on my Facebook feed mentioned today that a Sonic Cherry Limeade was actually just a Shirley Temple. Do you think the guys on the temple football team know that?

from what i have read, they ground and pound. if our D gives up 4 yards a run, they could seriously shorten the game and limit scoring. Similar to the first Navy game here, we were careless on a few possessions and ran out of clock to come back.

That works out better since our run defense is better than pass defense. 73 passes in 2 games for 511 yards, 7 avg. yards with a long by the QB of 22 yards. 76 runs for 312 yards, 4.1 avg. yards with a long run of 30 yards. Most of the passes will be short too. Their QB had 5 TD's but also 3 INT's.

For comparison we are averaging 8.2 yards passing and 5 yards rushing.

Hopefully their QB doesn't look like a Heisman candidate with our defense.

I think you are on to something with the INTs. I watched the USF highlights, and the speed of the game seemed so much slower than our games, especially against UCF. Hopefully our secondary can get some confidence with some INTs.

I've heard it mentioned a few times that in our 3 games so far the teams were in the top 11 offenses in the country. I hope we buckle down on Temple!

Through 3 games, we're averaging 3.6 rushing yds per carry. That is good for a top 25 defense ranking.

Let them ground and pound.

Rule of thumb:
Always capitalize the 'T' when talking about Shirley Temple.
Never capitalize the 't' when talking about temple university.

I’m going with ‘emple from now on. I think it’s a fair compromise.
