It is not being competitive it is staying competitive something most G5's struggle with. You have AD's that make moronic coaching hires often and you cant keep great coaches for more than five years tops.

Congrats to y'all! For myself, it really is exciting to see y'all succeed, & I'd love to see us face off as Top 25 teams at the end of the season (though we certainly have a tall order to do so on our end).

There are always some in every fanbase who like to talk crap, especially when jealous. I had not heard those comments myself, but I can definitely imagine some jealous dolts making those comments when we got left behind in FCS & y'all got to move up. Jealousy pure & simple.

There will always remain a fire in each fanbase as old rivals are prone to have, but hopefully anyone who made comments that y'all couldn't succeed have realized their mistake or have matured enough to shut it.

Some Liberty fans.. all fan bases have crap talkers and bury their head in the sand fanatics. The GS board is slap full of them. Liberty gets a ton of abuse on this board as well. I did not think CCU was a great get either at the time and cracking the top 25 is great, GS has not done it for sure, but one year does not mean you have arrived either. Chadwell is obviously a great coach but will the next one be is the question.

Big difference in having a current good team and having a good program that can bounce back quickly and weather bad coaching hires.

Nope, just the ex Baylor AD Ian McCaw who was ousted for covering up for Art Briles and a sexual assault scandal. And ex football coach at Arkansas State and Ole Miss, Hugh Freeze, Freeze of course was fired for multiple violations and having escort service on speed dial. He was fired because of his "Morality Clause". Yet Liberty is suppose to be a Good Christian School. If thats the case then they are hiring the worst of the worst to win at all costs. Congrats on the ranking. And you will likely not be ranked after playing us, win or lose. With all the other teams coming back this week, I doubt an SBC team will hold onto a #25 ranking even with a win. :(

For the record, I was guilty of being less than optimistic of Coastal being able to make the jump well based on facilities and student body size. But I have never been a hater. I am genuinely excited to see the Chants ranked. I enthusiastically embrace the series of games we have moving forward.
