Was at the game today. Not sour grapes but ECU wins by at least 2 scores if there's any semblance of a passing game. QB Holton Ahlers had a false positive on Monday and then passes tests afterwards but still can't play. Not to mention other vital players ruled out just due to contact tracing from Holton. Meanwhile Saban has the same thing happen to him but is allowed to coach. Really disappointing. Had to start and play a full game with 18-year old true freshman that had never completed a pass in college before today & was still in it till the end but this policy really cost ECU a W today.

Did a false positive test cost ECU the Navy game?

Top East Carolina fan excuses (for both football and basketball programs) - feel free to add LOL

1a. The worst refs ever

1b. "Wait till next year." Copyright pending.

3. Once we get rid of this coach _____ (fill in the blank)

4. We've "turned the corner" wait till next year.

5. Our typically bad recruiting class is underrated - wait till next year.

No debating that it has been tough being an ECU fan for the past 5 years. Doesn't change the fact that this policy cost us today and that it doesn't make sense. Wait till it costs your team and you may feel differently.

There is no such thing as “copyright pending”

Jokes aside, this could be an issue moving forward. I wonder if an AAC team meets an SEC (or any other conference) team in a bowl, which policy would be implemented? Would an AAC team just be at a self-imposed disadvantage due to conference covid precepts. Also, if & when this happen to other AAC teams, it could cost the AAC as a whole. An Access bowl contender very well could take an undeserved L due to extensive contact tracing.

I have seen that those PCR tests are garbage if that is what is being used here.

6. Our players need more water, that's why they keep falling on the carpet with cramps every time the opposing offense gets some rhythm.

The SEC had a similar policy to the AAC until just a few days before Saban tested positive. He was able to get 3 consecutive negatives 24 hrs apart, and test out The current AAC protocol doesn't allow an athletic department or anyone in a school administration to determine who is eligible. It is handled by the med staff at the conference level and individual schools have no control. The AAC needs to fix this ASAP.

Here's one about Saban.
How a Texas A&M Soccer Player and a 9-Day-Old Policy Put Nick Saban Back on the Alabama Sideline

As far as who has say so on eligibility, I should have said the protocol is set by the conference. Individual schools can't go against the conference policy.
