Agreed. He’s the kid that will succeed in anything he tries to do.

There is a lot to factor in when you compare Lynch and White's junior seasons. You can argue that with Miller not having a catch the year before, that Lynch had no true elite weapons in 2015. The leading receiver was Moze Frazier, with Miller second, followed by Phil Mayhue. I would obviously take Coxie or Gibson over both of them at that time.

The difference in the quality of our running backs was the biggest factor. Our top 3 running backs in 2015 were Dorceus, Cooper and Craft. That doesn't come close to comparing to Gainwell, Taylor and Gibson. I would take all three over every 2015 running back.

In 2015 our running backs caught 21 passes for 336 yards. Craft split time and caught 8 passes for 114 yards. Gainwell caught 51 passes for 610 yards on his own, our running backs caught 66 passes for 710 yards AND this doesn't account for any passing stats by Gibson as a running back.

Lynch got sacked 16 times in 2015. White would have been sacked a lot more. White got sacked 24 times in 2019. Lynch would have been sacked a lot less. Lynch ran for 237 yards on 87 carries. White ran for -71 yards on 61 carries.

In the end, Lynch would have looked smarter with the weapons that White had at his disposal, and because he would have avoided a lot of White's pressures and sacks, and White wouldn't have looked as smart getting sacked more in 2015 and not having 3 NFL quality players like Gainwell, Coxie and Gibson on the team.

The bottom line is that we have been incredibly lucky to have Lynch, Ferguson and White as well as Wimprine. Over the last 5 years we are #2 in the entire NCAA in scoring, with only Oklahoma ahead of us, and we are outscoring Oklahoma so far this year. I think a lot of our fans look at this as normal and don't fully appreciate what we have accomplished. We are a video game on offense.

Where are the "Brady McBride, Brady Davis, or David Moore should be starting" guys?
You know who you are

White deserved the criticism he got, and he deserves the praise. Looking back, you have to give Norvell a good share of the blame for being so conservative with White and not trusting him.

In 2018, White was very good in the 8 games that we won. He was horrible in our 6 losses. You can easily make the argument that the only good team we played that season was UCF. In our two games against them we scored 68 points in the first half, and 3 points total in the second half. We beat Houston who was 8-4 against other opponents. We got killed by a Missouri team that ended up 7-5 in games against other opponents.

8 Wins
- Opponents 30-58 record, only Houston with a winning record
- 2,142 yards
- 267.8 passing yards per game
- 71.2% completion percentage
- 10.0 yards per attempt
- 21 touchdowns
- 4 interceptions

6 Losses
- Opponents 31-28 record, including loss to Navy, 2-10 against other opponents
- 1,157 yards
- 192.8 passing yards per game
- 52.5% completion percentage
- 6.5 yards per attempt
- 5 touchdowns
- 5 interceptions

In the Navy game we scored 21 points with 14 of them on Henderson runs of 78 and 59 yards. Against Wake Forest, we scored 34 points with 7 on a 41 yard Patrick Taylor run, 7 on a pick 6, and 7 on a kickoff return by Pollard. You can easily argue that he was responsible for the losses to Navy, Tulane and Wake Forest, and at least one of the UCF games, considering that we scored 3 points total in the 2nd half of both games.

That being said, after the debacle against Ole Piss, where we scored 15 points with 7 coming on a drive where we ran every single play and 2 points on a safety; he has been great and has deserved all of the praise and more. He has been incredible.

I am pretty sure we don't beat SMU last year with either Lynch or Ferguson. The difference with White after 2018 is that he plays equally great football against good opponents.

No one mention the fact that he broke the school record for most passing yards in a game.

His 486 yards passed Ferguson's 471 yards in the both the Houtson anhd UCF (title games) in 2017.
