Second half is the first half of really great defense we've played this season. USA, UTSA, and WKU aren't good offensive football teams. If we had let any of them score more than 14, we suck ass.

WKU had triple the yards in the first half today than they did vs Marshall last week. The new QB sucked as bad as the CCHS kid. Western is literally one of the worst offensive teams in the nation and our D gave up two TD's in one half. That's not good but only if you have some expectations greater than another sloppy W over another mediocre team.

The D stepped up and played like they are supposed to and WKU never threatened. It was about damn time they stopped giving up 5-6 yards a carry.

He is right. If you read the thread you would think we are winless and was clobbered today. It is depressing and his comments are as welcome as anyone else.

No he's not. He's just another whiner that doesn't participate but then wants to ***** afterwards. Probably an Ehsan supporter with no standards. Heh.

We played crap defense in the first quarter and a lot of the second. Same as we've done in previous games against, at best, mediocre opposition. Thankfully WKU cooperated with some timely turnovers to help our offense out and we were facing literally one of the worst offenses in college football.

After next week we will have played exactly two teams that aren't mediocre fodder: Miami and Louisiana. Today in the 2nd half was the first time in a while our D played well enough to maybe beat a good team. UCA, USA, UTSA, and WKU are not good teams. Again, CUSA West is the worst division playing college football this Fall

Being the best team in pitiful CUSA West should be a given. More UAB fans need to raise their expectations beyond just showing up, beating some ****** teams, and going to a meaningless little bowl game. A few more years of that and we'll be back to averaging in the teens (once the pandemic is over). This team needs to step up, on the field and in recruiting, and hopefully the 2nd half today is the start.

Exactly. We made a big turnaround defensively in the 2nd half from our last several games. I gave credit where it was due and when it was due.

Both UAB lines got tossed around a good bit in the 1st half. The defense stepped up in the 2nd and made the outcome a foregone conclusion.

I was at the game. I usually enjoy reading the game thread after a win - not today. No biggie.

How this transitioned over to Ehsan and basketball seems like quite a stretch. Anyway, I’m embarrassed to say I only went to two basketball games last season. I knew Ehsan wasn’t getting the job done. I’m super excited about the upcoming season with Kennedy and his crew. Can’t wait!

Didn’t get to watch. I instead got to watch Tennessee absolutely poop the bed vs. Kentucky, which was quite the event to witness in person. From the stats of our game though, I don’t see too much to complain about. I’ll never complain about a 3 TD win. On to Louisiana.

There a group that can't stand anything negative or critical said about the team or the school. It upsets their fan sensibilities and negatively impacts their enjoyment of our program. Even though the exact same thing is done by every fan base of every sports team in the ENTIRE FREAKING WORLD. They been around this program forever and the same ones chime in every time, doesn't matter which team or which coach. You would think that after a while they would understand that it's just part of sports and get over it.

I praised the hell out of the team in the 2nd half and I agree there are a lot of good points to take from this game. I was critical of our D in the first half and it was well deserved. As Matt pointed out, at one time in the 2nd qtr we were giving up 7 yards a carry and gaining 1. If I was the coach I would have torn them a new one on the sideline. Maybe that's what happened but in the 2nd half WKU had about 100 yards or less total offense.

First time this season we've held a team under 100 yards rushing. Second time (UCA) to not have an opposing back go over the 100 yard mark. Progress.

This is the best I've felt after a game all season. I think we may be turning the corner. We'll find out more next week.
