Not saying we SHOULD be ranked. and admittedly we're the worst case for an AAC champ getting the NY6 Bowl given those OOC performances.

However, the Team to Beat in the AAC is the one on top of the table.

Tulsa and SMU are the only ones out of all those teams to beat someone considered in the top half of the conference though.

Wouldn’t Memphis be there as well?

I’m wondering how any team can drop in the standings after winning their game? We’ll meet Navy head to head in a couple of weeks.

Who dropped?
2-0 > 1-0 last week, just like 3-0 > 2-0 this week

Cincy maybe the team to beat but a Tulsa may end up winning and going undefeated if they get past Houston as they get SMU and Cincy at home.

I’ll never use or trust the CBS Sports app again. It showed us going from 1st to 4th after a win. And still doesn’t show our actual “in conference” wins.

I'm getting worried about being able to keep Sonny Dykes.

A three point squeaker over Tulane in overtime has other teams trembling, that is for sure.

We had more talent and we won.

Texas, OU and A&M would kill to be able to say that as much as we have the past two years.

I may be biased, but the SMU Mustangs are 2.5 point favorites against the Cincinnati Bearcats. And if they win, they are sure to move up in both the AP and the Coaches polls, and sit on the top of the American Conference.

Memphis isn't undefeated in conference as the teams listed above are.

This didn’t age well.

Dukes looked bad at times tonight, IMO. Strange decisions and bad clock management and he spent more of the game complaining to refs than coaching.

He’ll be on your sideline next season.

i'll give Cincinnati credit. They definitely played better Saturday night. SMU had lost most of their weapons and they made too many mistakes.

UC played last night without its starting Center and starting left guard. Just sayin'.

SMU is definitely the team to beat (abuse). Our offense was abysmal, our defense quit, and our coaching staff was asleep.

Your offense went against an elite defense.

RE: SMU emerges as "The Team to Beat in the AAC"
Our offense was also missing our elite WR, which would have really opened the field. Nonetheless, the better team won. SMU is doing great and ahead of schedule for our rebuild. However, in the back of my mind I knew that if we ran the table and made it to the NY6 bowl we would be badly exposed as we do just enough to win but aren't quite at that next level yet. All of our remaining games will be a challenge, yet we should be able to win them all. I predict we drop another to Tulsa, Houston, or Navy.
