I like the moves. Why not give waylee a shot? Trust him until you can’t. He can’t be worse. 2 lost fumbles in 2 games for Collin. 1 fumble zero lost for waylee.

Getting fletcher a few series would be great. Rainer is fun to watch, wild and over persues some of the time, but you learn that stuff by playing.

Deveaux had a good game 1 and missed game 2, he may suffered an injury. Hammock does not reveal injuries.

Injuries don’t surprise me for Deveaux. He’s a very good LB but he came here as a 5’10” 185lb safety. Packed on 40lbs and quite frankly it’s not all muscle from what I’ve seen. That’s just the dilemma of moving smaller athletes into bigger positions.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Both LDJ and Ducker are hurt.

Fletcher needs to play, Bowers deserves a ton of credit for coming back when it would have been really easy not to, but playing a 6th year senior right now who is average at best solves nothing.

Agreed on Bowers, I think he's a talented player with a great arm and throws some beautiful deep balls. But he's a QB that needs a good OL to block for him and a running game to take the pressure off him. At this time, he's not the right fit because we don't have that. We need a dual threat right now.

Sadly this is pretty much the same conversation we were having last year about getting Childers back in the mix since they couldn't run or protect the QB. Certainly not Bowers' fault as other have said. He's a good QB and good dude.

If only we could have a QB with the legs of Childers and the arm of Bowers. That would be a wonderful thing.

That combo is called "Chandler Harnish" and they don't come along every day.

Hopefully Fletcher is that future. I'd like to see him play these last 4 games to get those reps and experience.

+1. Bowers wasted his eligibility coming to NIU. He could be a very good passer in the right offense. Our offense has been a fire drill. And not just under Hammock either. Until we can open some holes for the run game we need a qb who is a playmaker. My fear is Fletcher May develop some bad habits if the offense remains this undisciplined.

-Fletcher
-McCray
-Toure
-6th o-linemen Over Soraghan...he doesn’t catch OR block.

Soraghan wasnt *that* bad...plus he’s the best of what we have right now.

I think if you trot Fletcher out there you don’t do it and make wholesale subs with young players. Let him have Turner-Rudolph-Richie-Crawford out there with him.

Maybe sprinkle in the young WRs with Bowers. But you want to let Fletcher taste success.

He’s just the noticeably worst player on a very bad offense so he catches most of my angst. I do only notice him when he screws up. I’ll pay a little more attention to him this week and try to find positives.

What happened to Corey Lersch? I thought he looked decent.

I agree, but Soraghan looks bad on some things that aren’t entirely his fault. He whiffs on chips which annoys me, but outside of that he’s *fine* as a blocker. If bowers stepped straight forward in to the pocket everyone would look better - but bowers is shell shocked out there.

I don’t have any expectations of Soraghan as a blocker as compared to actual blockers. Of course a 6th OL would be better, but you need at least the illusion that he is a pass catcher there.

What needs to happen is Robinson needs to transition to TE. He’s a big dude, he can probably put on more weight and actually be useful out there.

I’m optimistic about Fletcher being that combination QB that we need. You need to be mobile these days. The pocket QB position is dying. All the good ones in the NFL can run except for 3 old veterans.

And Joe Burrow. But I agree. Did you watch Cardinals vs Bills? That’s the future of the position right there.
