Having some knuckle heads buy crap with scholly funds has nothing to do with what was accomplished on the field. AL players did the same thing yet we know how that goes. CSU gets the hammer swing while AL gets slaps on the wrist. If you think we would not be better off today with Chadwell...well then I cant help you.
Coastal looks very good so far this season, yes, but you're forgetting that Chadwell has yet to produce a winning season at Coastal as an assistant or head coach while Lunsford has had winning seasons, gone to a bowl every year, and is undefeated against our rivals which is the base line expectations at GS. I know your game is to cheer when we win and say "I told you so" when we don't, but don't count your chickens before they hatch.
oh wow. So meeting minimum standards is bragging rights now. Yes I cheer when win....and I do like to point out when I was right....that is pretty much every poster on this board chief.
Context of Chad's sucess.
Of the 21 wins Chad only 5 have come from teams with winning records and 3 from FCS teams.
CL is 21-14 overall
18-14 against the FBS
5-11 against FBS teams with winning records
5-8 vs G5 teams with winning records
3-0 against the FCS....

Great now look up those same stats for Jamey Chadwell as Coastal's head coach and compare.
Keep moving the goal post guy. Trends...they matter....keep that head buried.

Quote:On January 17, 2013, Chadwell was formally introduced as the third all-time head coach at Charleston Southern.[9]
On January 8, 2017, Chadwell was named new Offensive Coordinator at Coastal Carolina.
On July 28, 2017, Chadwell was named interim head coach for Coastal Carolina as head coach Joe Moglia took a medical leave of absence. The school announced on January 5, 2018 that Moglia had been medically cleared to return to full-time coaching and would reassume the head coaching position.[2]
In 2018, the NCAA released a detailed report concerning numerous NCAA violations that occurred during Chadwell’s tenure as the CSU head football coach. The violations ranged from using multiple ineligible players to player’s using scholarship funds to purchase electronics and jewelry from the campus book store. Ultimately, the NCAA sanctions vacated 18 wins from the 2014 and 2015 seasons and the 2015 Big South Championship. Also vacated were three wins over crosstown rival The Citadel, games during which CSU used ineligible players.[1]

Congrats Coastal! I fell asleep before the end of the game but from what I could tell this one could have gone either way. Maybe will see these 2 in a rematch in December?

Overall 9-7 as official head coach. Also, he is 4-0 with a P5 win and a win over the best team in the West and top 25 and will probably be in the top 25...how was Chad's second full year four games in? He also had a better recruiting class last year and is ahead of us this year. I do think they are playing over their head a tad and will come back down and I also think our game is going to be close and might pull it out as we still have the better talent but the trends are obviously in the favor of Chadwell overall. This is Chad's third year not 2nd as official head coach and Chad took over GS who has been FBS a years longer not third year FBS CCU that is a big difference in a ton of ways and absolutely none in the favor of CCU. They are just now cycling out the last of the FCS recruits. So just my opinion what Chadwell has done so far is just a tad bit more impressive than what I see from Chad the last year and half. To each his own and I still want Chad to turn it around but I dont think that happens doing exactly what he and or the staff has been doing. I dont hate Chad at all I just refuse to accept mediocre and that is what we are.

The only coach that will receive more attention will be Billy.
I think Chadwell needs another year or two for a HC position at a P5 or good AAC and schedule luck but with that win and getting CCU ranked it going to attract attention for sure. Now for a good-paying OC position, he might get snatched up if he continues and this is just not just a good mini-run. He is the offense I believe not just calling for one or two on the extra points and yelling in the headset on game day like at some schools. IF this continues this will be the third struggling program he will have turned around for it to be CCU a young program to begin with and a FBS start up will be the most impressive by far.

Take note of who's posting.
Who gives a crap if a thread takes a slightly different direction anyway.... Is it really a big deal, really? It is still about CCU so how is it hijacked? Chadwell is the HC of CCU last I checked. Where there still people wanting to discuss the game... Honestly a thread discussion on an obscure G5 conference board actually bothers people if it is not 1000% in line with the thread title...how pathetic is that. Take note who takes time out of their day to whine about what people post, they have no lives apparently.

RE: Game Thread: COASTAL CAROLINA at #21 Louisiana! 7:30p EST on ESPN.
CCU is well coached both sides of the ball, they know who they are, an option team that’s going to establish the run with a lot of misdirection, then when you commit to stop the run they hit you with 7-15 yd pass. Move the chains, repeat.

Agree, typically we are one of the fastest defensive teams from sideline to sideline, teams like GS and now I’m afraid CCU will use our over pursuit against us.

I think the "both sides" of the ball is what makes them stand out this year in the Belt. Seems like most are struggling on one side or the other.
