The NCAA's Eligibility Process is mind blogging and inconsistent at best! Hopefully, they will pass the proposed rule soon that will take effect next season allowing a player to transfer once in their career with no strings attached. On a side note, in a tweet from ESPN's Jay Bilas yesterday, he brings up the JT Shumate transfer story as an example of a system broken.

In the same Briggs column from yesterday, he mentions that UT 2020 Junior College Basketball Commit, Charles Jones opt out of the 2020-21 season (most likely due to COVID). That answer's a question posted earlier this summer on why Charles Jones name was no longer on the roster. It will be interesting to see if Jones returns for 2021-22 season as per NCAA COVID guidelines, he must be allowed back if he wants with no loss of eligibility.
