RE: Bourne Dialogue - Dukes Unite
the philanthropic side vs the donor benefits side. Neither is wrong. Plenty of folks will identify with Shady and prefer to only give based on what they get back. JMU athletics just doing the basic step of showing why there is a need and making that difficult ask for folks to give generously if possible.

We renewed our full Proud and True gift around March 1 too. Might throw in a little extra this fall, but have also committed to other funds this year as our way of supporting a little extra where we could. Hard to pick and choose when the need is so great in so many places (at JMU and beyond).

04-cheers Yep - no right or wrong. Just individual decisions. And we all know, the more success that is scene, the higher ticket prices (at all levels) and donations at Universities.

I agree no right or wrong here. I did let them keep my season tickets money instead of asking for a refund.

I think during times like these there are so many worthwhile charities in your local communities that are struggling with the usual avenues for fundraising being so hamstrung.

Most folks are quite generous in all regards but don't have an extra bucket of money laying around. When times get tough charity starts at home and I see a lot of folks saving right now to take care of their own which I totally get.
