Most Memorable Tiger Basketball Play of All-Time
I was recently asked, what’s your most memorable Tiger basketball play of all time. I am a huge fan, but born in ‘78, so I know I can’t even begin to know them all.

It doesn’t have to be a game winner or changer. Just the play that sticks out to you as your favorite.

My top 3 favorites:

-John Wilfong’s 3 pointer over Oral Roberts in 1987 (after a ridiculous comeback)
-Elliot Perry’s 3 pointer to beat South Carolina in 1990
-CDR’s dunk over Kevin Love in the Final Four in 2008

A lot of fun plays listed. Aside from the ones listed, none of my three favourites were crucial plays at the ends of games, and two of them weren't important at all.

Carney's two dunks against Tulsa, especially the second one off of the backboard from Andre Allen, because it was so unexpected.

Dixon behind his head, Geron behind his back, Crawford alley-oop to Shaq.

Joe Jackson shot block against Gonzaga's 7'1" Karnowski.

Oh, I forgot about Joe’s block. That was so much fun!

The Tagart; AA; CDR; AA; Rose; AA {SLAM} against Mich State 1 min before half time.... greatest total team athletic sequence in program history.

1 tip/block
1 steal/rebound
4 passes
2 dribbles
1 dunk
6 seconds coast to coast...

2:35 mark in the below vid; submitted for your viewing pleasure.

Don't know the year, but it had been an incredible Memphis vs. Louisville battle in the Mid-South Coliseum. With Memphis up by 1(?) and time running out, one of the McCray brothers launching a prayer from somewhere near half-court . . . and everyone just knew that the shooter being a McCray and it being that kind of a game the shot had a decent chance of going in . . . until Keith Lee comes out of nowhere and swats it away from behind as it leaves his hands. Game over, crowd goes absolutely crazy. Amazing, that was.

Virtually impossible. Basically it comes down to best in your particular memory.

Aii-Time is much longer than that---for most.

That's one of the best team plays I have ever seen in any sport.

That's the one I think about.
Missed FT, everyone thinks it's a 2-shot foul and just stands in place at the lane. Ball casually bounces to Baskerville (I think). Keith is adamantly shaking his hands for Batman to toss him the ball - so Batman does. Keith takes a couple big strides and slams it through.
At least that's how I remember it.
Would love to see video of that. I don't even recall the opponent.

1. B. Parks tip in

2. J. Jackson's block

3. Dixon behind his head, Geron behind his back, Crawford alley-oop to Shaq.

1-2 due to the game situation at the time of the play

3 Just because it is ridiculous

I think a play that requires the team is better than any individual play.

I stand behind the Michigan State game play...

RE: Most Memorable Tiger Basketball Play of All-Time
1. Madlock dunk on LaBradford Smith
2. 24-0
3. Steve Ballard's dunk against Bradley where Hersey Hawkins tip the ball out of Cheyenne Gibson's hand. The ball goes up in the air and hang's forever. Steve Ballard catches it and dunks in all in one motion
4. Penny's dunk against SW Louisiana off the bounce.
5. Penny's over the shoulder no-look pass to Billy Smith while sitting on the floor against Marquette. Mike DeCourcey still list this as one the best plays he has ever seen in college basketball.
6. Penny's dunk on Clarence Witherspoon
7. Joe Jackson coast to coast dunk against USF with 4 seconds left in 1st half
8. Michael Wilson dunk against Cincy over Burton
9. Michael Wilson dunk over Othella Harrington at Georgetown. (Amazing athletic 1st half that game)
10. Any of Joey's dunk in 2008 tournament
11. Penny's block against Cole vs DePaul at DePaul in 93 when he gets the rebound and hits the shot on the other end.
12. Any wrong way play ran by Dana Kirk

Should I keep going?

That Michigan State play was sick. Start watching at the 33 minute mark...

I also really liked the Rose double pump slam in close quarters against Texas. Who even tries that? Start watching at the 42:40 mark.
