Publicly pleading for 90k fans and your game gets canceled a few days later. What a trainwreck.

Why? I fail to see why you and Steve-R are kind of harping on this.
He wanted 90K in the stands, which the state has approved and which obviously would benefit his team. It's sad that five players have tested positive thus postponing the game.
Not much else to it, really.

There’s nothing funny about this pandemic... but its ability to dole out instant karma throughout all of this has been uncanny.

Maybe because only a dumb*** would advocate putting 90,000 people in a stadium at this stage of the pandemic when cases are rising almost everywhere in America?

that was initial. Up to 19 now and they were going to have fewer than 50 scholarship players available.

Yes, you can't have that few players available. As I said, LSU will not be complaining.

All those posts about schools postponing and canceling seasons. Particularly the BIG 10, I was bashing right along with the others, with all the funny posts.
Say one word about an SEC school and a certain poster appears offended.
Hell yes this is ironic and deserves a thread! Freaking guy calls for 90,000 fans and can't keep 90 players virus free.
Wait until the BIG botches up their extremely tight schedule. ACC boyz and the rest of you will be writing threads as fast as your little fat fingers can type. I'll surely be laughing right with you at the trainwreck as it unfolds.

Don't know why all these games are being postponed. We can't get to herd immunity unless everyone does their part to contract the virus as soon as they can.

How is this karma?
It's only karma if you believe that Dan Mullen is a Bad Person who deserves to have Bad Things happen to him. Do you two honestly think that?
My wife is right: this virus is worse than religion & politics combined in how much it's causing people to hate each other.

I think him thinking 90k at a football game right now is reasonable makes him a total moron. This virus is no joke. So for it to happen to his team yeah that's pretty much exactly karma.

1. Mullen seems to think that the trip to A&M was he starting point and he's not laying blame on the Aggies, they are attempting to find if perhaps a person missed by the testing spread it on the flight.
2. State laws will prevail. If Florida permits 90,000 then it will happen. If not it won't.
3. Nobody said, or even expected that COVID 19 would somehow be eliminated during play. They took precautions to contain it and the minimum threshold of positives was established to prevent more spread at events. 2 SEC games have been postponed and Vanderbilt was the first to do so and their issue seems to fall upon protocols. So the Vandy / Mizzou game is one and the Florida / L.S.U. game is the other.
This afternoon Nick Saban and the Alabama A.D. both tested positive.
4. Two games out of 30 played and 10 scheduled for this week isn't bad considering.
5. Those who canceled the season initially seem to have schadenfreude over any success.

See what I mean?
You want bad things to happen to him because you disagree with him. You justify your desire by stating just how certain you are that you are correct. As if that somehow makes your hatred acceptable.
This virus isn't a joke, but it's not a game either. You're treating it like a game.

I feel that the majority of those you mention do not gain pleasure from others misfortune. There will always be those that are jealous, but keeping insight from this forum alone, I think everyone has been pretty respectful. Outside of this forum? That's another story but I have noticed even there, people have praised conferences that are currently playing.

Funny how people who claim their position on the virus is based on Science then invoke something like Karma, which I suspect doesn't have much scientific validity. It just seems like an exercise in frustration-vetting, or something.
For my part, I want football stadiums to fill up again. To me, the data shows that the virus has been badly overhyped in terms of restrictions to the general public. We should be providing powerful protections for the very elderly and others with severe conditions, isolating and insulating them, but the notion that everyone should be restricted to protect the most vulnerable is wretchedly costly in terms of collateral damage, and hasn't proven to be very effective either.

Clemson's Death Valley sounded pretty loud last week with limited attendance in pouring rain, Florida could've gotten a decent enough homefield advantage at The Swamp as-is without hosting a full crowd to create the most dangerous type of event you could have during a pandemic.

I agree to a point. I am 65 in a month and do not have parents that are still alive to worry about. Where I work, someone was tested positive and lives with their in-laws. I can't imagine their predicament since he is 50.
