RE: Registration Gap Narrows
Thats why these polls bring up so many red flags to me.
NO ONE registers to be a republican because its the cool thing to do or they don't know what to pick. If you are registering to vote just because you register as a Democrat
For GOP to close the gap so much in FL and other states like PA shows me there is something there

We have a closed primary system here, so you register so you can vote in the primaries. My FIL is a registered independent and his ballot had maybe 2 races while mine had 20 something.

What are you seeing/hearing in FL? What do you think it's looking like?

I'm in a county that went over 70% to Trump in 2016, so I'm probably not the guy to ask! As always, its the I-4 corridor.
In our neck of the woods, more attention is being paid to the congressional seat which is more competitive than I thought and County Commissioner.

While closing the gap in registered voters can certainly make a difference, I think in Florida the election really comes down to which party can swing the independent voter. For example, I live in Pinellas County, FL (Clearwater/St. Petersburg) and according to the supervisor of elections site the current registered voters in the County are as listed below:
Democrat: 255,469
Republican: 250,488
Other: 205,575
So, while Democrats have a slight edge in the County (by 0.7%), that gap is miniscule compared to the almost 29% of voters that are registered independent. Other surrounding counties in the I-4 corridor vary in the balance between republican and democrat, but in no case does the difference between the two come close to approaching the percent of voters registered independent.
