Mitch McConnell has politicized the Court and the selection process to where it is not representative of the people it serves. I have no issue with ACB, but the 8 month refusal to seat Merrick Garland has thrown off the balance.

McConnell didn’t politicize the court. It’s normal that a lame duck President without his party in power does not get his pick appointed. The only thing McConnell did wrong was not having the balls to say that straight up, but instead said something about the election. That is 100% normal process. Obama still nominated Garland, and a GOP controlled Senate told Obama he didn’t have the votes in the Senate to get it done.

That’s not politicizing anything. That’s why the Senate is so important and also why we have checks and balances between the three branches of government. It’s a real shame democrats don’t understand that. Go back to high school civics class little fella.

They've loaded the courts over the decades with "Living Document" activists. Now they see their judicial majority dwindling at a record pace being replaced with "Original Intent" judges.

They realize without their judicial activists they lose the power to dismantle the Constitution.

Apples and oranges.

Obama lost his senate majority because people wanted to keep him in check.

Elections have consequences.

Trump kept his senate majority.

Elections have consequences.

What you have described is the very definition of politicizing the Court.

Please explain how.

I'd like to hear an answer to this as well........

To David:

The Constitution states that when there's a vacancy it is the job of the POTUS to recommend someone to fill that seat and it's the Senate's job to either confirm or deny that person. No if ands or buts.
That is the Constitution. The fact that Biden stated that the American people don't have the right to know if he's going to try and pack the courts tells me all I need to know. IF that's what you want vote for it.

To Mensa:

Change your name. You're a blemish on people who actually belong to Mensa. Again see above. It's the President's job to nominate and the Senate to confirm or deny. Adding justices are allowable under any Presidency AS long as it's confirmed. Not saying that Biden wins, he'll get the Congress he wants. And the fact that a President got luck and got to nominate 3 justices in one term is not politicizing the courts, it's playing by the rules. You know who screwed Obama on getting Merrick Garland? Biden. Biden argued in the 90s that a President (George HW Bush) should not get to nominate a SC Justice while being a lame duck President. The Dems set the precedent and the GOP rammed it back down your throats when the opportunity presented itself. And currently Trump is not in a lame duck term.
