I’m as excited about Kennedy as anybody, but can y’all not act like we didn’t just hire the white Mike Davis?

Davis is a better coach most likely. Kennedy can make a program better as a whole though. After watching what he did in the offseason it’s hard to not be excited. Under Davis we didn’t know what we had in the offseason until August. Davis did a fine job with the wins and losses while he was here, but his indifference to recruiting or backup plans absolutely hurt us.

I was generally opposed to the Kennedy hire until he was actually hired and started recruiting/running guys off. I’m as excited as I’ve been since the year after the Iowa state game. I will always wonder how that year would’ve went if Norton didn’t get hurt.

I am willing to bet that AK will not have the conference tournament struggles Davis did though.

The main thing Davis and Haase have in common with regards to UAB is that neither did enough. Neither was able to make up the ground lost since Mike Anderson walked out of the building. Anderson was just starting to make up the ground lost by a pretty down decade of the 1990's.

We have fallen so far and both contributed, as well as Murry Bartow and Rob Ehsan. I hope I live long enough to see UAB basketball earn back the respect and fear we used to enjoy from our competitors. We were hated in the old Sun Belt and it was great. I want to get back to the AAC group of schools and make them hate and fear us too.
