NIU-CMU 1998 Game Replay
NIU Athletics is airing the 1998 "streak buster" win over CMU tonight on the NIU Athletics YouTube Channel. Will be fun to see the goalposts come down! Additional commentary from Bill Baker and Mark Lindo. Fun idea as that was a Homecoming game.

RE: NIU-CMU 1998 Game Replay
That was an exciting game, but, wow, was the weather bad! (Of course, it was a rainy Saturday!) We were there, but couldn't take getting soaked, so we watched the second half on TV in the Holmes Student Center. We went outside after the game and watched the goalpost procession to the East Lagoon. Then, after dinner, we went back to the lagoon to see the goalpost still standing in the water. A most proper finish to an incredible day.

By the way, Central Michigan never forgot that it was they who we beat to end the losing streak. They promised that they would make up for it and take it out on us in the future, and they have certainly kept that promise!

They did? Pretty sure we're 12-9 against them since, that's payback

Really enjoyed the video and commentary! Liked how they showed play after play and made the video go very fast.

i thought it was very well. Baker got his facts wrong at the end though. Said Novak started 3-33 when it was 3-30, and lost track of the year saying it was 1988. it was cool he talked to McCareins though and got his perspective on the game, plus giving a shout-out to Bill Wise at the beginning.

Actually he was 3-30 after three seasons but lost the first 3 (maybe 4) in 1999. That’s at least 3-33 or 34, right.

yeah I was strictly looking at a 1998 perspective, but you are correct he did actually start 3-34
