Mock 2021 ACC Schedule
For those of you who's 2020 season is over or who are hopeful we will have a "normal" season with full capacity crowds, I decided to do a mock for the ACC 2021. I also have a mock for the SEC on the P5 board. I would do the Big Ten but their schedule is already out.

So let's see how fans really feel about their schedule (or proposed schedule?) Do fans like or dislike their schedule? Who has the best (or worst?) Remember the games and matchups are determined by the conference and the non conference games are determined by the schools. Pre scheduled games are from FBSchedules. Clemson's schedule: https://fbschedules.com/ncaa-2021/team/clemson

RE: Mock 2021 ACC Schedule
Hopefully UConn either drops football or drops down to I-AA so that SC State can be the weakest team on our schedule.

I can't see NC State going to Starkville unless MSU comes here.

I'm just going by FBSchedules and these are obviously pre-pandemic. CardinalJim had stated in the P5 board about the Kentucky/Louisville series that it would be unfair Louisville gets cheated out of a home game as would Florida State and Clemson (but so would Georgia) when the SEC canceled all these games (and I'm sure if the SEC hosted three of the four they would have kept them). It certainly would be up to the schools to decide whether to flip the series or keep them the same. Obviously the debate over UK-UL has gone to the men's basketball series as well as Louisville will likely be forced to host a game with limited or no fans this season.

As for NC State, I agree with Statefan, I wouldn't want to go to Mississippi State unless they go to Raleigh. I would have never taken the series to begin with. Who wants to play any games in the rathole state known as Mississippi? The issue of course is when are those non conference games scheduled during the pandemic going to be rescheduled when most universities have most of their non conference games scheduled for the next 3-4 years? Will there be a bunch of games canceled in 2021 because schools will be like NC State who can't schedule the return game? There could be a whole new bunch of openings.

Your hatred towards UConn never ceases to amaze me. It isn't enough to reject them from the ACC, you have to insult them any opportunity anyone mentions them. Apparently the athletic department of Clemson doesn't hate them as much as UConn, they're willing to at least play them ... and at least pay them to play them. Think about how much money your own school just gave UConn.

Update: $1.2 million dollars:)

I didn't know sucking at football was grounds for being hateable. I thought it was the other way around. I thought you would hate schools for being good at it because they always beat you.

Pocket change. It also set the example that UConn is in no way our peer. Just another rent-a-win.

And it's easy to hate UConn. Not only are they the absolute worst FBS football program but their fans are the absolute worst in the NCAA. Never has a group of fans of a program that has accomplished so little been so entitled. To hear them talk you'd think they invented basketball and are the best program ever to play the sport.

Over the past decade we have had a home and home with Tennessee changed into weekday afternoon one off in Atlanta because UT wanted out, had LSU cancel a home and home, had Oklahoma State cancel home and home due to B12 schedule expansion, lost the home game with West Va due to a hurricane, and now have lost MSU and MSU doesn't have opening per se until the 2030's. They are not likely to do 2 p-5's in a year.

There is no reward in a single game at MSU for NC State. We used to schedule and play games like that in the 50's, 60's and 70's and it cost us a couple of major bowl games like the year we had to play at Georgia, Nebraska, and Penn State.

UConn was sold a bill of goods regarding its football program. Certain people have attempting to push that bad decision off on the ACC for the last two decades. Playing then as an ooc football one a decade or so is one thing. VT, UVa, WF, Duke, UNC, State, CU, GT, Miami, and FSU get nothing from a bi-annual tripp to Storrs. It's not personal, but it's tiring to keep hearing about them.

If people at ACCbbs not named Kaplony are tired of hearing about UConn, then I'm probably not the only person who thinks they should have been invited to the ACC instead of Louisville or should be considered for future ACC consideration.

The issue/complaint I have with Kaplony is I post a mock schedule for Clemson and he has to take a shot at UConn because they are on Clemson's schedule. This kind of hatred IMO is irrational. If UConn was in the ACC and collecting money from the ACC Network and ESPN that they didn't deserve, they do deserve complaints. Rutgers is stealing $ from the Big Ten. The Mississippi schools, Vanderbilt, and Arkansas are stealing $ from the SEC.

The last comment "Playing then as an ooc football one a decade or so is one thing. VT, UVa, WF, Duke, UNC, State, CU, GT, Miami, and FSU get nothing from a bi-annual tripp to Storrs. " Umm, last time I checked, UConn is NOT in the ACC. Why the need to complain about it? Those of you who didn't or don't want UConn in the ACC? You WON. Why do you need to kick dirt in UConn and their fans' faces every chance you get? If people are saying UConn deserves to be in the ACC and you disagree, you have a right to and should argue your case. But UConn's an FBS independent who just wants to play a game and Kaplony hopes UConn "either drops football or drops down to I-AA so that SC State can be the weakest team on our schedule." That was unnecessary. This is like picking on the school geek to me.

When I say "sucks huge donkey balls", I am not referencing their football ineptitude. I am referencing the condition of their arrogant, condescending, self-important fans.

UConn sucks.

At life.

THAT makes them hatable.

It naturally follows that they would suck at football.

Kentucky has agreed to play football in Louisville next year. We expect the basketball game to be played with UK visiting Louisville. If that happens it will be the first time football and basketball are opposite in the series. Meaning when your football team is home, your basketball team will be on the road.

Is there confirmation of such? I can't find that on the internet anywhere and FBSchedules obvious doesn't say it.

I wonder how the other ACC-SEC rivalries will be handled. Will they switch so that the teams that were supposed to host this year get to host in 2021 or will the teams that host in 2019 demand to host because it's their turn? Obviously Florida and South Carolina would want to host again but Georgia Tech could screw Georgia if the SEC wants to play that game.

RE: Mock 2021 ACC Schedule
Assuming it gets played, Clemson/Georgia could be one of the biggest Week 1 games in years. Hopefully by Sept. 4, 2021 the pandemic will be over and there will be a full crowd at Charlotte for that game. Georgia will need that game more than Clemson does. Clemson can lose it and go through the ACC undefeated and probably still make the Playoff. Georgia can lose it and go through the SEC undefeated and probably still make the Playoff but that road includes playing Florida in Jacksonville and likely Alabama in the SEC Championship Game. Clemson's way more likely to win the ACC than Georgia is to win the SEC. If Georgia beats Clemson, I can see Georgia beating Florida and losing to Alabama in the SEC Championship and still making the Playoff.

Louisville basketball coach Chris Mack broke the news late last month:

“Never mind the fact that they called ESPN and tried to change one of our ACC games without our knowledge or permission. Never mind the fact that Coach (Mark) Stoops and his football program at the University of Kentucky honored that request in football to move Louisville’s home game from 2020 to 2021. If you can do it in football, seems like you could do it in basketball. Never mind the fact that the University of Cincinnati asked us to do the exact same thing that we’re asking Kentucky to do, and we honored that request.”

But UConn's an FBS independent who just wants to play a game and Kaplony hopes UConn "either drops football or drops down to I-AA so that SC State can be the weakest team on our schedule." That was unnecessary. This is like picking on the school geek to me.

Well if you are going to get butthurt when someone speaks the truth then as a non-ACC fan I suggest you keep your sensitive feelings somewhere other than the ACC board.

I didn't know sucking at football was grounds for being hateable. I thought it was the other way around. I thought you would hate schools for being good at it because they always beat you.

Kap calls Notre Dame "parasites" every time ND is mentioned, into freaking infinity.

There probably isn't a single issue on Earth, whether sports, politics, the weather (if Kap said it was going to rain, I would bring sunblock) or any subject you can think of that I would remotely come within a light year of slightly agreeing with Kap on, any subject at all, bar one.

This one. UConn and its fans are the worst. Full stop.

You won't find a single person on this board who has any use for UConn, at all.

RE: Mock 2021 ACC Schedule
Regarding UCONN .... they're anathema to the modern athletic mission in the ACC. They offer an additional mouth to feed without additional revenue, recruiting turf, meaningful geographic footprint, etc, etc, etc. They didn't belong then. They don't belong now. They won't belong in the future. My only regret is that Richard Blumenthal can't be pilloried in a public square in Hartford, CT every time UCONN athletics takes another step backward after their lawsuit stunt.
