It's not a season shuttering...its a permanent shutdown. Getting out of the athletics business. Gonna pay the professors more.
We have schools for that already, we even have one in our conference and you call them Nerds....Looking at you Rice. In all seriousness education and research should always take priority over the rest when it comes to schools. After all these are called Academic insti'tutions for a reason.
P.S. why are more than half of you 5 FAU fans on the board also rooting for FSU. Its not like Boca Raton and Tallanasty are close or anything. Is there a student transfer program at FAU that sends kids to FSU or something?
Screw academics. Some people root for 2 teams who cares. Some people went to both schools and believe it or not their are a ton of FSU alumni in South Florida.

Not that i care about how and why they are rooting for FSU but that ratio looked abnormal so i figured i clear that up with folks in the know. Anyways didn't know that many FSU alumni lived in the south florida i was under the assumption that most folks south of Gainesville either belong to or root for Canes or Gators.

For me, FSU was the first football program I ever supported, before FAU even had a program. I guess, I was a frontrunner, in 1991, when the first NCAA football game I ever saw was FSU shellacking Michigan 51-31.

And, yes, there are quite a few FSU alumni here, in South Florida. I have no idea of the numbers, but I do have 3 here, working with me in my office.

That makes sense and really we have a lot of folks in 757 that support VT Chokies even though they have no association with them and that includes some friends and families of ODU who have been following them before we have Football.

I liked Smokey and the Bandit...and Burt Reynolds was an alumni of FSU, so that's why I am a fan.

Well they have to pay Taggart some how until they realize they have a Seth Litterel situation on their hands like UNT did. To be frank this is happening at P5's even with their huge TV Revenue so this will more than likely gonna impact almost all G5 schools.
FSU is paying Taggart lol. FAU actually saved money hiring Taggart because Lane was more expensive.
FSU owes Taggart 20+ Mil less his FAU Salary, so roughly 18 mil over 3 years. FAU is paying Taggart $750K, which is less than Lane’s $900K + $200K home loan forgiveness.
Lets not forget I think Ole miss also had to buyout lanes contract.
The entirety of Taggarts contract with FAU is probably close to a wash.

Yep...it wasn't close to a wash, Lane worked for free for us. Was told by someone that would know.
