Mike Houston Weekly Press Conference
I keep having to remind myself. This team is very young. There are over 50 new players on the roster. I think the biggest thing I took from this was the comparison Houston made with this job and previous jobs. He stated that this job compares mostly to the Lenoir-Rhyne stint he had early on in his career. It really put things in perspective for me. Lenoir–Rhyne was a total rebuild or build. It was program that hadn’t had a winning record since the early 90’s. This is going to be a slow process. I believe in MH and this coaching staff. I know they will get the job done. I never felt that way when Scottie was at the helm. The only real optimism I felt with Scottie was when he hired Blackwell, but that was minimal in comparison to how I feel about this staff. This group is going to get us there. It’s just going to be a painfully slow journey.
