They're trying to run out the clock until November 4. If they succeed, this will all go under the rug, never to be seen or heard again. We should have been doing this in time for the 2018 midterms, not trying to get it done before the 2020 election. Republicans just are not as good at political games as democrats are.

It's not just to protect the reputation of the agency, her own azz has some culpability there. She was London station chief as all the shenanigans began, and they started in London. Like the other rats, she is nervous.
