Football Schedule
Not official yet, but I'm hearing CMU's schedule is likely the following:

Home vs. BGSU, Ball State and WMU; at EMU, NIU and Toledo.

FIRE UP CHIPS! :)

At first glance it looks like a pretty fair shake. NIU the only long road trip.

RE: Football Schedule
The one thing to consider about BGSU as CMU's crossover opponent is that this would mean Toledo and BGSU aren't playing each other. In other words, it doesn't make sense.

Like CMU, Toledo will host two of the five MAC West opponents this season, meaning the Rockets third home game will also be a MAC East crossover opponent, same as the Chippewas.

Toledo was originally scheduled to host Ohio and BGSU this season for its two crossover opponents in an 8-game MAC slate. Ohio's other MAC crossover road game this season was at CMU, so, it would seem that CMU will host Ohio this season for its crossover, while Toledo will play its traditional rival, Bowling Green.

RE: Football Schedule
And here it is! As I thought, Ohio is CMU's third home game and first of the season. WMU is Nov. 18.

Ohio - Wed. 4 Nov.
at NIU - Wed. 11 Nov.
WMU - Wed. 18 Nov.
at EMU - Sat. 28 Nov.
Ball St. - Sat. 5 Dec.
at Toledo - Sat. 12 Dec.

MAC Championship at Ford Field - Fri. 18 Dec.

Yeah, that's the big question now. I see that the second and third games of the season for conference teams are split on Tuesday and Wednesday of the week. So hopefully CMU gets a fair shake at being on TV with double the opportunity on those two weeks. I'm not sure why they didn't also schedule this way for week 1.

RE: Football Schedule
CE, knowing that ESPN controls the inventory for the first three (midweek) games, thinking one game will be featured on ESPN2, another on ESPNU and one more on ESPN+.

Opening night (Wed., 4 November) will feature six games. Of the six, I would say Ohio vs. CMU offers the network a compelling ESPN2 matchup with Jim McElwain vs. Frank Solich. The defending MAC West champs and a brand new football building. Miami vs. Ball State is a good matchup too, as is the BGSU vs. Toledo rivalry.

The following two weeks feature three MAC East games on Tuesday night and three MAC West matchups on Wednesday night. Not sure about CMU at NIU, but I'd be surprised if the 18 November CMU/WMU game is not televised on ESPN2.
