Congrats to Dou
Apparently just had a little girl, Khadija. Dou seems like a really good guy who will make a really good Dad!

Diarra. 6'9 RS Junior Forward out of Mali. Seems to be a great guy and I think will make a big impact this year for our bball team.

RE: Congrats to Dou
I am hoping that he shows significant improvement this year.

He comes off as a hard worker and a positive guy.

I hope he is enrolled in a worthwhile degree track, and sets himself up for a successful life after basketball.

I can’t even begin to imagine having all of his responsibilities as a player and student, no money and a brand new baby to top it off.

How do you support a family without a job?

I knew plenty of people in grad school that did it. One of my classmates had 3 kids before he got his first job. Student loans, baby.

This is our modern world. Most people can't support a family until they're past their peak childbearing years (biologically it's 16-24 years old for women). We're forced to choose between having lots of money when our oldest kids are little, or having enough energy to play with them. I know which one I'd have preferred as a little kid.

Getting to the USA from there is like hitting the lottery.

RE: Congrats to Dou
Dou seems like he will be a great father. Best wishes to he and his family! Hopefully his future children end up at UC, regardless of their athletic abilities, as Diarra has been an exemplary student-athlete.
