RE: The U of Miami - #7 AP poll
There’s one thing worse than losing. It’s being mediocre. Just good enough to not be fired but not good enough to be hired away. Apathy reigns at MT. At least when you lose everyone can agree when it’s time to cut chord. Because of the apathy anyone who cares has moved on to more important things and given up.

Well it happen a lot sooner than I expected and with King as QB it is going to be a showdown with Clemson next Saturday.

Miami is overrated. Clemson will smack them down. The media loves to rank teams like Miami, USC and Notre Dame really high.

King will play on Sunday but Clemson will put a smack down on Miami.

FWIW La Techs beat of mijami was one of my best football days last year, thank you.

The U starting well is not that much of a news. it's how they end the season. A couple of years back, they started 10-0 just to lose their last three.

Old brag: we beat a good team.

New brag: we beat a team that became good the next year.

Miami's ranking is a benefit of:

1. being named Miami
2. being undefeated in a very young season

Clemson will probably win 50-something to 30-something.

So far UAB has been their best opponent but I fully expect Clemson to thoroughly beat Miami down.

I don't think I could argue against that. The ACC teams they have played weren't too impressive compared to the game UAB gave them. FSU is obviously not good this year.
