It's 10am and I'm ready to start drinking. If things go as expected you might get this and the Keion White saga as a bonus.

Guess there was not enough alcohol consumption yesterday, dang it.

Heard of another medical retirement, maybe two (I may have lost count)

Also heard when classes are over next week there will be more cuts. By my count we will be left with fewer than 25 upperclassmen, maybe under 20 when it's all said and done. BW recruits, and it helps Rahne get his guys in, but it's gonna be hard to replace a kid with 3-4 yrs S&C and field exp (even in a transitional system) with HS kids and still hope to get the dubs.

2021 gonna be rough, I think.

Can it truly be rougher than 2019?

We know a redshirt year is good for a player. What we just did, was redshirted the whole team.

I agree. This year was going to be rough. All we did by not playing is push that rough year to next season. That will be three seasons in the new stadium with lousy or no football if thats the case. Hoping Rhane can get some more transfers in to jumpstart the program. If there was ever a time to do so, now might be it. This fanbase and program needs a winning season in the worst way.

Disagree to an extent. I think we are making it worse.

My hope was with the change in management and the serviceable guys left from BW, had we played this year, we scratched out 3-5 wins and improved from there as more (and theoretically higher-ranked) Rahne guys came in and BW guys graduated.

By not playing this year and everyone having a 'free year', there was an opportunity to ramp up S&C and drill from the basics on up to improve the quality across the board (with the new coaches/where BW coaches missed the mark), and then have those guys we'd improved on the field for an additional year (or until RR guys were 'field-ready'. So we spent 6-10 months prepping these guys and then release those with the experience, in some cases with no one on the depth chart behind them other than garbage minutes.

I get the opportunity for RR to get 'his guys' in, and I get the monetary end of releasing guys as they get their Bachelor's. But we took an opportunity to improve with what we had in hand and turned it into an obstacle to get back to winning football. I don't see how you go bowling when you'll be starting sophomores.

Other things I've heard make we wonder if we don't have the G5 Justin Fuente on our hands, but it'll take a couple of cycles to see trends there, and it's hard to ***** about our highest ranked class so far. Right now it's nothing more than wide-ranging chatter, but add it all up and you wonder.

Also, other than one high-profile case, I haven't really heard much about transfers, and word was pretty much all our spots were locked up...but we've had 3 guys de-commit in the last month, and Lord know's there will be plenty of room.

With a fanbase that's going to be bloodthirsty for winning football, and gutting the ranks of Juniors and Seniors, buckle up and grab your rosaries. ****'s gonna get ugly, I fear.

The staff watch the players on a daily basis. If they thought the upperclassman were significantly better, they would keep them.

We have a cycle in the books now that will have a Full year of practice and S&C. The 2019 class also has some talent assuming many of them stay. Guys like Slade and James, etc would be pushing to start their 2nd season (freshman on paper). This is a more long view approach to building the program. There are a few upper classman that are really gonna suck to lose but if the staff is recruiting like they have in 20 and 21, then you want as many upper classman out of the program as you can get.

He did say good depth at RB...which without Lala would be surprising. Watson, Slade, ?

Baghdad Bob needs to work on his copypasta skills. Spring practice or fall? 2021 or 2022? Feels like he combined old articles.

Otherwise, once you cut out the fluff he does a good job of diminishing expectations for next year at a minimum and tells us of the QB change. Word is we're pursuing a pair of transfer QB. We may need some more depth, esp with Williams playing D.

SW moving to D is another example that he may be one of the best teammates to ever put on our uniform. He can play QB but he has shown he will do what’s best for the team to have an impact on the field.

Here’s hoping Rahne can find his guy. With the lack of depth on the offensive line and the run oriented offense, were going to need a mobile QB. Landing Tisdale or Patterson would solve a lot of those issues but the competition for both will be steep.

I def. did not hear SW was going to play defense. Im not even sure where his body type fits in....safety, will linebacker? Seems we have some decent depth in the defensive backfield.

Not super excited that they believe Smartt is the best QB at this time (if true). That is not a good sign for Wolfe. The major concern above any other position should be QB.
