Not everyone gets sick on the same time table. A lot of it depends upon the amount viral load. Of course we'll likely know none of this as with the rest of the president's actual medical state. Still no valid explanation for his surprise trips to Walter Reed.

I hope this is not true, but many are reporting that Hope Hicks tested negative Wednesday, but then tested positive Thursday morning. But apparently, the administration did not ask or mandate as per CDC guidelines that those who were in contact with her had to quarantine. That includes at least the press secretary who held a press conference Thursday and the president who held a private fundraiser with donors.

Not to mention, those quick tests are the least accurate and you never know exactly when you're exposed to the virus or when you first have it. So you wear the masks to protect others...as well as potentially protecting yourself.

This only happens if both are incapacitated to the point of being unable to perform the duties of POTUS. Basically, they would have to both be on ventilators at the same time before Nancy would sniff any presidential powers. The last part is pretty crass. Trump has said America has to get back to work and has led by example. He has done his job, taken precautions where possible. Basically, he has done the same thing he has asked Americans to do---go back to work and use the tools available to reduce risk (he has used testing to identify people who may be at risk, he's used social distancing, and has used masks when social distancing wasnt possible).

The death rate for Covid in the US continues to fall as we learn more about the virus and devise better ways to treat it. Furthermore, new treatments are in the pipeline. We can now see a vaccine on the very near horizon. You know, in WWII, Americans didnt hide in their basement and wait for the Japanese to land in Malibu. But we didnt curl up in a ball and give up. The easy way to minimize fatalities and keep everyone safe would have been to just give the Axis powers what they wanted in a negotiated peace deal that kept us out of the war. But thats not how Americans thought back then. Instead, we shook off a gut punch on Dec 7th, and got down to the business of doing what had to be done. We fought for the future we believed in and it cost a lot of lives. But what we didnt do is hide in the basement and passively let fate dictate our future. I think thats the spirit and attitude Trump has been trying to convey.

David, the reality is there is nothing wreckless or careless about how the US handled the virus. Basically, every single free western nation in the world is doing some version of what we are doing. The results are more about density of population and how compliant your population is. On density---we arent too bad except in a few isolated areas like New York. On the compliance of our population----we Americans are simply not as compliant and Korean or Japanese societies. Ive said it before----America is a country born of revolution. We Americans are a fairly unruly bunch when it comes to being told what to do. It is what it is. Frankly, I think the American people will run any president that tries to shut the country down again out on rail. If you'll notice---Biden aint talking much about doing that anymore because its about as popular as jabbing a pencil in one's eye.

He called this virus a hoax and been telling people not to wear masks and all that. Most of the uptick or spikes of the virus are in states run by Republicans who do not mandate masks. Masks saves lives. With Trump refusing to wear a mask in public and the others who follow him not wearing one? A lot of his voters caught the virus and died. Karma caught up to him playing with fire. He needed the whole country in a shut down at the same time, mandated homemade masks, and other issues to stop the spread and stop the deaths. We would be at over 10,000 deaths instead of over 200,000 right now. Allowing the virus to spread is killing our economy.

What if nobody in the WH gets any sicker than a cold? Then was he right?

I lived in Asia and yes they do wear mask for the pollution. People still get sick while wearing mask. I wore mask all the time for that same purpose and still got colds, etc. When living there.

You can still test positive for the virus, and then get ill from it like from 10 to 14 days after tested positive. That is why they tell you to be quarantine for 14 days after you tested positive so that you don't spread the virus. If you become ill in that time period? You would not be out and about spreading it which could kill others.

Then exercise your right as an American citizen and stay home until there are zero cases David......... Don't worry about your bills, the collectors will understand.
