Exclamation The top performances from NFL Draft prospects from last week
https://247sports.com/LongFormArticle/NF...52220475_9

Quote:9. EDGE JORDAN SMITH, UAB

247Sports: Smith blew up last year in his first campaign in Birmingham, totaling 53 tackles, 17.5 TFL and 10.0 sacks. Smith, who spent two years at Florida before moving to JUCO in 2018, was one of just two EDGE defenders last year to produce a 90-plus grade against the run and pass, per PFF College. Through two games this season, he’s picked up right where he left off. He’s combined for 13 tackles (four for loss) and one sack.

PFF: “At 6-foot-7, 255 pounds, Smith is in a nearly identical mold of defensive end as Ali Gaye.”

Jordan has one more year with us, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him enter the draft if he keeps playing well.

Probably would take a season-ending injury, especially late in the season, for him to come back. If he stays healthy and productive, I'd be shocked to see him come back. Hope I'm wrong.

I agree about Smith. Even though his numbers aren’t tops nationally, he is a specimen that is sometimes playing above the level of the college defenders. Not sure about Spencer, Matt, but I wouldn’t be surprised either. Like Marino last year (though he fell into the UDFA ranks from Kiper) I think Spencer is in that UDFA area. He could get up to a borderline 3rd rounder.

I think for a RB, the fewer miles you put on your body in college the better. I think the extra wear and tear of another season would far outweigh the benefit of anything else he was hoping to show scouts. I hope he stays, but if he wants to go to the NFL then as long as he continues this season at the pace he's on with no major injuries, I'd advise him to go.
