However, the moans of existential dread are starting to surface from Eastern Washington boosters. Chances are they’ll either drop a division (or two) or drop football. I suppose the WAC could even be involved, but I doubt it.

EWU is not dropping FB, nor are they dropping a division. Be serious.

If you go over to the ACU message board sound like the WAC could be making a trip to UIW for a site visit.

I remember the Summit League did a "virtual" tour of Augustana as a courtesy immediately before they rejected them. I hope that's what is happening here.

That San Antonio market is a powerful drug. UIW has always shown potential, and Lord knows they have the cash. Have to admit they really have built a nice brand. Would be a nice swap for Seattle. Culturally, geographically, and they play FOOTBALL. Actually had them coming over from the SLC with ACU, when I didn't think there was a snowball's chance in Hades we'd get both SFA AND Sam. Already play some WAC sports. If true, this could be a great move.

So now it’s only HBU and the Louisiana schools that were the problem? UIW has always been a valuable member to the SLC schools?

I'm thinking the WAC could be struggling with convincing other Big Sky schools possibly.

If the WAC is seriously considering UIW, there better be stipulations for facility improvements. Apparently UWI has a health athletic budget, require them to agree to bring up their facilities to a higher standard as part of any WAC invitation.

I'd prefer going to 12 over adding UIW. But I also don't want to kick anyone out.

Leave it up to fate and have the schools draw straws to see who has to go.

It's the most fair way to decide, the same can't be said of it being the most reasonable or orthodox.

That's what caught your eye? Not the blatant "let's dump Seattle" crap from him again. LOL.

Figured that myself. San Antonio is an easy roadtrip for Tarleton and RGV.

I like their campus better than UTSA but their basketball gym is garbage. You dog on Tarleton for a high school gym, UIW looks like a church rec center or cafeteria.

Not so much. UIW, much like HBU has subpar facilities and San Antonio does very little to support them. UTSA plays in the Alamodome and has a large following and gets local support. UIW plays in a stadium that is not on par with local High Schools and has a small following. Hard to believe I’m saying this but the WAC can and should do better. No need to add a school just to add a warm body for football. There are much better football schools out there!

I’m really surprised signs point to the WAC leaning towards Incarnate Word over West Texas A&M.

Probably just due diligence. Now that the WAC can be picky, I expect that they visit all candidates.

Yeah, I don’t care about that. Just calling out more of his spin that spews from his mouth. For months we heard about how crappy their athletics is. Now they’re rich and play football and “worthy” enough to be in Tarleton’s presence.

IMHO the WAC shouldn’t go near UIW. Yes they’re in San Antonio but they have no fan following. In their final pre-COVID football and basketball seasons their average attendance numbers were 3,274 and 509 respectively. That’s abysmal.

Hopefully a site visit is simply due diligence. It’s hard to imagine UIW would be more attractive than West Texas AM. WTAMU has much better facilities and is an elite D2 basketball program.

So UIW, IUW, WIU or whatever the heck I'm reading = Incarnate Word? Thanks for setting me straight. What the heck is an HBU? Are these schools DII, NAIA, high schools in the San Antonio area? I am familiar with DI schools. I know very little about schools that aren't DI.
