Is it gone before the game tomorrow? A lot of people on the VT board are signing up for a trial to watch the VT Wake game on MASN.

Going forward I think it's appropriate that Chad get to broadcast his Dad's old team every week from now until the contract ends... seems like the least the ACC could do!

Can anyone explain the rules to watching the RSN games via Watch ESPN and Fox Sports Go. Looking for a detailed explanation on home team, away team along with in market and out of market. Sometimes one can watch RSN games on Watch ESPN while other times it is blacked out and then sometimes you can watch it via Fox Sports Go.

Asking for a friend..

RE: YouTube TV loses regional Fox sports channels
ACC Football TV Distribution and Start Time Policies

TV Distribution of ACC Football Games

Every ACC Football Home Game will be distributed live by ESPN and its sublicensees. Such distribution may occur on ABC, ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPNU, over-the-air ("OTA") or regional cable syndication, ESPN3, or by means of other sublicensing by ESPN on other national broadcast, cable or satellite television networks. Syndicated games that air OTA or on Regional Sports Networks (e.g. Fox Sports Carolinas) are generally produced by Raycom and currently referred to as ACC Network games.

Start Times

ESPN will establish start times for all Football Games, except those aired on ESPN 3. Schools will generally select start times for games aired on ESPN3.

Saturday Games will be scheduled for kickoff during one of three windows: early (12 noon/12:30 pm); late afternoon (3:30 pm); and Primetime (after 6pm) local time.

Games may also start in Primetime (after 6 pm) local time on Thursdays and Labor Day Monday.

The start time for any Thanksgiving Friday game(s) shall be mutually agreed between the Conference and ESPN.

In-Season Game Selections/Start Time Notifications

During each Football season, ESPN will generally notify the Conference of its selections and start times of all football games no later than 1:30 pm on the twelfth (12th) day prior to the scheduled date of each such Saturday football Game (i.e., the second Monday prior to the particular Saturday game), but on limited occasions during each season, ESPN may notify the Conference of its selections and start times as late as 12 noon on the sixth (6th) day prior to the scheduled date of each Football Game (i.e., the Sunday prior to the particular Saturday Football Game).

About RSN

RSN, which reaches in excess of 51.4 million homes, includes Fox Sports South, Fox Sports Carolinas, Fox Sports Florida, Sun Sports, Fox Sports Indiana, Fox Sports Midwest, Comcast Sports Net Mid-Atlantic, New England Sports Network (NESN), the YES Network, the Madison Square Garden Network (MSG) in New York and Root Sports in Pennsylvania. All ACC games produced as part of the RSN package will be available via WatchESPN, but are subject to regional blackout.

RE: YouTube TV loses regional Fox sports channels
Directly from ESPN (this also apples to espn3):
"Blackouts apply to telecasts that have been sold regionally or locally per league, conference and local rightsholder agreements. Regional and local rights holders are usually broadcast stations or regional sports networks. Blackouts are implemented to protect the primary rights holder, as defined by the professional and college sports leagues or teams in a given market. If you are receiving blackout messaging on WatchESPN, check your local listings to find the television network carrying the event. If you see a message that states, "This content is subject to blackout", this is because the event that you requested is not available on WatchESPN in your location. Your location is determined by your IP Address. If you are connecting with a mobile device and believe you are incorrectly receiving blackout messaging, try connecting via WiFi. If you continue to receive inaccurate blackout messaging, please contact our Customer Care Team at 888-549-ESPN or @ESPN_FanCentral on Twitter."

RE: YouTube TV loses regional Fox sports channels
I think the easiest way to get around blackouts is to switch back to cable or satallite providers. However the serious cord cutter can download any of the copius amounts of free software that will mask or make private your Public IP address provided by your cable/mobile device carrier. People have mentioned hotspot, it's probably the most popular because it's easy and quick. Google is your friend on this one. Enjoy the game even if it is blacked out!

FWIW, AT&T TV Now offers a one week free trial of its $80 package, which includes the Sinclair RSNs. Good for one weekend of games.

Can't find a web link with an announcement, but just got a notice from YouTube TV that it's dropping NESN effective tomorrow. So, YouTube TV subscribers in New England will also be without the ACC RSN package. NESN still available on AT&T TV Now and Fubo.tv as far as I know.

Which will end up having more subscribers by the end of the year: the Sinclair RSNs, or the Pac-12 Network?

Lol. I do think that the decisions not to renew the Sinclair RSNs by YouTube TV and Hulu, as well as similar decisions with respect to other networks, have to do with the lack of programming on those networks at this time. Why pay the high subscriber fees they demand when their core programming isn't even available? When the major pro sports come back in full force, we'll likely see negotiations reopening. Unfortunately, those of us counting on these channels for ACC games are out of luck in the meantime.

Quote:Sinclair Writes Down Its Sports Networks by $4.23 Billion
(Bloomberg) -- Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc. wrote down the value of its regional sports networks by $4.23 billion, an admission that it grossly overpaid for cable channels hobbled by cord cutting and shrinking subscriber revenue.

Sinclair paid $9.6 billion in August 2019 for 21 regional sports channels that were once part of the Fox empire. In a quarterly earnings statement Wednesday, the broadcaster said the value of those assets have shrunk by almost half.

Profit from those sports business may tumble 30% this year, according to Geetha Ranganathan, an analyst at Bloomberg Intelligence. Sinclair faces pressure because it has $12.5 billion in debt and has failed to secure contracts from Hulu and YouTube to carry the channels. The broadcaster bought the networks from Walt Disney Co., which had agreed to sell the properties as part of its takeover of 21st Century Fox’s entertainment assets.

So you're saying...
RSNs with ACC sports: $9.6 B
RSNs w/o ACC sports: $4.37 B

RE: YouTube TV loses regional Fox sports channels
Sinclair Broadcast Group this week announced a deal with casinos operator Bally’s Corporation to rebrand 21 Fox regional sports networks.

The 10-year naming-rights deal for the 21 regional sports networks is part of a larger agreement between Sinclair and Bally’s. The companies said the deal will “creative unrivaled sports gamification content on a national scale” and “position Bally’s to capture a significant share of the fast-growing U.S. sports betting and iGaming market.”

Bally’s will reportedly pay Sinclair $85 million over 10 years for the naming rights, but the deal is not exclusive; the broadcaster can still sell ads and partner with other betting operators.

Bally’s brand will be promoted across Sinclair’s 190 broadcast TV stations as well as the Tennis Channel and its sports streaming platform Stadium.
