A Letter to Blazer Nation From Director of Athletics Mark Ingram
https://uabsports.com/news/2020/9/30/gen...ngram.aspx

Be sure to catch Coach Andy Kennedy's first season as the men's basketball team continues its preparations to make a run at the Conference USA Championship this year! We are currently finalizing a socially distanced seating model that allows for approximately 25% capacity at Bartow Arena. Season ticket holders, UAB Students, and student-athlete guests will have top priority as we adjust our seating manifest leading into the season.

I understand the reasoning, but it's going to become an issue if they take a person that pays a $1000 per seat "donation" to sit in a specific section, and move them to Blaze's corner.

Seating will still be based on how much you've given, and people understand that. If people give up their season tickets this year, there will be a lot of primo seats available in year two.

Wow that's not many people. Surely we have more season ticket holders than that, especially after Kennedy's hiring. After setting aside some number of seats for students, it seems like we'll have season ticket holders that don't get in. Or maybe some season ticket holders will have packages that don't include all games so attending games is rationed out.

Most schools are giving the options of 1) use the seats we give you this year, 2) don't come to games this year and get a refund of your donation and still retain your rights to your normal seats for 2021-22 season, or 3) don't come to games this year and we get to keep your donation and apply it to next year, retain your normal seats for 2021-22, and we'll give you a priority point bonus.

2127

What do yall think 500 for students? That would leave 1627 for season ticket holders. I bet there will be 25% or so opting out out of fear.

I just hope they actually give me my tickets. I reupped the day Kennedy was hired, but I've had 3 separate people from the ticket office call to ask why I haven't renewed my tickets yet.

Isn't 2127 like our actual attendance the last couple of years?

I'd be willing to bet if we counted actual butts in the seats we were closer to 500 than 2000.
