Let this sink in. If USM's interim coach in his first game kicked a fieldgoal instead of going for it on 4th down early in the game, and/or kicked extra point instead of going for 2 on first TD, then USM would have beat LA Tech and be sitting at 2-0 in conference.

Congratulations Southern Miss fans. You beat the crap out of us.

We have major problems in Denton. I just got back from the game. What fans remained at the game were openly roasting Littrell and yelling at our players. There is a fan rebellion occurring and I'm not sure where the AD or big money boosters stand. This Mean Green team may not win another game this season. They look like they've quit on Littrell, but the bigger question is what will be the future of our program. Littrell is not the answer. We will see what happens.

If Littrell can finish even in conference then I can see UNT giving him at least another year. He would have to lose out or only win a couple more conference games to be fired during a covid season imo.
Although USM did get rid of their coach after one game this year. Different situation though because Hopson had a much smaller buyout than Littrell.
He has to be skating on thin ice regardless of the covid obstacles this year.

IF... "if's" don't get you very far in life. But, we can all play that game, IF Tech hadn't been wracked by the China virus and had more of our starters present the game wouldn't have been close such that a missed PAT would have mattered.

Such is the nature of "If's".

Word from the press conference today is that Southern Miss played that game vs UNT with 53 scholarship players.
