RE: 2020 AP Top 25 Thread
We probably should give thanks to our league improving it's brand in recent years - in particular with participation in the NY6. Also, UCF's undefeated run a few years back. This has helped us in the CFP conversation among national media types. I also have heard a lot of comments about our team's ability to play solid in all three phases of the game [a complete team]. Thank you to Big Fick and the staff for that one...

Ridder under center is not beating UCF on the road. No way no how.

You called this one right.

Which one of the above Jimmy the Greek's? LOL. To be fair, Rid wasn't playing his best earlier in the season.

Yea, I also think UCF’s run helped legitimize our run with their undefeated seasons and performance in NY6 games.

Can you post links to the data, the computer rankings of SOS, not tweets?

UCGrad1992 linked to the FPI SOR data. I don't know if connelly posts his resume S&P anywhere other than his Twitter feed. Before he was at espn he used to give you access to the excel spreadsheet every week. It gave you all his data. Wish he still did that.

Apparently SOR doesn't take into account ND playing Clemson with Clemson not having Fabio at QB.

So think in terms of Cincinnati playing OSU's schedule. Is it reasonable to believe that we could be 4-0 playing against that schedule?

Nebraska 1-3
@Penn St 0-5
Rutgers 1-4
Indiana 4-1

On the flip, is it reasonable Ohio St could be 8-0 playing our schedule?
FCS AP
Army 7-2
USF 1-7
@SMU 7-2
Memphis 5-2
Houston 3-3
ECU 2-6
@UCF 5-3

It seems we could be 4-0 as playing Indiana at the Nip is doable - only ranked team at that point. Ohio St most likely 8-0 with our schedule but I would argue SMU and UCF would be tougher road games than at Penn State [I never thought I would say that LOL]. Long story short, our current resumes from a SOR standpoint are comparable.

Looks like OSU will go through their schedule having played 1 team with a winning record, until CCG. BTW that ESPN SOS link has Colorado at #26 have played 2 games, Stanford and UCLA. It is hogwash to toss in these teams that have played 2 games. USC SOS is #16 that is BS.

I've watched a few PAC12 games this year rooting against Oregon/USC. That conference does not look P5, but of course a 7-0 PAC12 champ will be superior to 11-0 Bearcats.

Agree. Other than tradition and bias, what makes anyone think Pac12 is better than the American this season? Same for B12 and if that’s the case, shouldn’t we be in with an undefeated season? Of course the Committee won’t see it that way.

2 of the 10 school members of the CFP Committee are from the PAC 12. Ronnie Lott is also in it and of course he is a USC Trojan. So make that number 3.

0 are from the AAC.

BTW, Florida’s and Texas A&M’s ADs are on the committee, too.

Nuff said.

Yep...we're ******. And really, the fact that they allow AD's onto the committee is kind of ridiculous if you as me. How are they supposed to be at all impartial (yes, I know that isn't the goal of the system)?

As I updated above, Ronnie Lott is also on it so make that 3 PAC 12 votes since he went to USC.

Hopefully next week Navy inflicts a physical beating on Tulsa but not on the scoreboard and the Hurricanes move up in the polls to the top twenty or better.
