VT beats NCSU 45-24 and drops from 20 out of the AP poll.

I don't see why they put the B1G and Pac 12 teams back in the polls when they won't be playing for another month.

Well it was Luke who was trying to stay out of the prison collective, so I guess you would be the one saying, "I'm shaking it boss!" while stringing the rope out to make a break. I guess your job is to try not to eat too many of the ACC's boiled eggs for their amusement.

They're not completely worthless. They're useful in hyping up games as ranked match ups. If the teams don't have a huge following or are G5 schools it can bring a lot more interest and viewership to the game. Not everyone follows college football closely enough to know who is supposed to be good this year without looking at the rankings.

I'll take it. VT plays 3 of the four during the regular season - starting with #8 next Saturday. Plenty of opportunity to climb for the Hokies.
