GT will still be without its starting RB, both DE, DT, CB, both TE, and the backup QB. They're playing a converted long snapper as starting TE.

And apparently we can't even get a kickoff on time. Can't blame the weather this time.

FSU is really gonna hate themselves for losing in week 1 if this continues. GT still has zero offensive line.

I believe most teams are playing with a shortage of starters this season. SU is without its first 2 original running backs and the nations leading interception hawk in Andre Cisco.

Louisville at Pitt was actually entertaining. Tough game, hard loss for Louisville but nothing to be ashamed of.

The good will that Coach Collins had from week 1 is gone... Hell it's three states away already.

Welp, one class ain't enough. They're still among the all time worst teams GT has ever fielded

So in three weeks #1 Clemson goes to Atlanta. Should we start a running bet on what the spread will be? I'll guess Clemson -40

VT looked pretty good, down 23 players including the starting QB, in a game where the 2nd string QB was out with cramping for a while.

Miami and Pitt are looking real good. Hoping the Hurricanes are for real. My second favorite team.

RE: Open Thread - 2020 Football - Week 3
Nice win by Syracuse.
FSU is a terrible team. I don't know how they can do so little with so much. FSU gets a boat load of 4 star and 5 star athletes and they play like that.
Granted, that Miami is really good. Possibly National Championship good.
Pitt is good too. They have a good defense and running game and the quarterback is really good.

I looked back at the schedule. There's 3 wins at an absolute maximum left on it. Most likely outcome is we're 2 games in to an 8 game losing streak.

On the plus side I can instead watch the Big 12 circus on Saturdays.

Yeah, at least an eight-game slide... Any win would be a huge upset.
Game #9 is against Duke who's had our number for years now.
Game #10 is at NCSU who probably wants revenge for last year but they ain't looking good so far.

I have uh... quickly lost all faith in Collins. We can't afford the buyout so it's irrelevant how he does for the next couple of years. Patenaude couldn't coordinate an offense against the wind. Thacker tries but isn't keeping up well.

Assuming for a moment that GT does suffer from in-game coaching problems which cost you the last 2 games (not sure I buy that, but let's say it's true) - do you not think that Collins recruits well enough to keep him, even if you need to replace some coordinators? After all, Dabo Swinney didn't really get going until he replaced both the OC (Rob Spence) and DC (Vic Koenning) that he inherited...

Collins does recruit well, I'll give him that. My concern is that he'll wait too long to replace the coordinators and end up like Doeren at NCSU.
