NIU athletics must have known they were going to vote yes. This press release came out way too quick.

Guess we’re splitting hairs on when the PAC-12 voted to return but we were the first conference to say we weren’t playing and at the back of the pack to return.

Nov 4th is a Wednesday. Not even a pandemic can get the MAC out of midweek BS.

Just read mid week games in November and Saturday games in December.

It's a perfect time to play all mid-week games. No fans allowed anyway, so might as well get the ESPN national broadcasts during the week. I think only the last couple games on the schedule in December will be played on Saturday, and that's just fine.

Ha! Only 2 games in December, right? So 1 Saturday home game. Oh well. I should be used to this

Should be a quiet news day, nothing much happening in the country the night before. 03-lol

I normally cringe at these midweek games. But if we can recoup some valuable $ by doing it this year, then I'm for it.

ESPN3 is already getting stoked to include us as one of the 1,500 events they’ll be carrying on their platform.

Those games will be brutal weather-wise, particularly for the players standing on the sidelines. Nothing like DeKalb in winter! Since there will be no fans, why can’t the home games be played indoors in the Chessick indoor facility on days/nights with unbearable weather? ESPN3 can set up their one camera in the hallway and shoot the game through the window.

They can go outside for kickoffs, punts and field goal trys.

Decisions regarding attendance have not been finalized yet. If they eventually allow fans in the games, this would pose an interesting situation for those who bought tickets for a full season - including games that have already been cancelled. For those who will attend those games, have fun enjoying December in DeKalb!

RE: MAC play to start on November 4th
It would just be nice to wake up Saturday mornings excited for a game. The year is so screwed up and they still are stuck being held to this illusion of maction. I’m sure they need whatever espn bucks they can get. Can’t blame them. Was just hoping the powers that be would just say f@&k it, play on saturdays.

I'm guessing the mid-week crap is paying for some of the testing. Let's get through the season and move on. So happy we're not the turd in the FBS punch bowl....

GO HUSKIES!

This is not a bad idea.

We would get to show off the facility also!

I would imagine, similar to the Wrigley football game fiasco, there may not be enough safe distance on the sidelines and through the end zones.

GO HUSKIES!

If ESPN is paying us more than the current MAC contract stipulates I'll be surprised. Any ESPN money I'm sure was already factored into our athletic budget pre-COVID. My guess is each school is just going to have to take a bath on all the testing costs. MAC conducting four tests per week is more than AAC's three tests per week.

Looking forward to even a 6 game season. Anything to salvage part of the mess that is 2020.
