RE: 3 NIU Teams now quarantined
The reaction to these cases is extreme especially in the case of these young and healthy college aged kids. In time we will look back and realize that. Unfortunately these standards will be extreme this fall and many games have been and will be cancelled as a result. That doesn't mean the MAC shouldn't at least try to get in a season. The conferences that had already chosen to move forward and play are attempting to play around 10-11 games. If they can get in at least 8 of those because of stringent guidelines I would say that would be a success. In the MAC's case an 8 game season should be able to get in hopefully 6 games which is better than zero.

I was hard on mlb because it took so long for them to get back but I now see why it was so difficult with such strict guidelines. I applaud them for persevering when many called for the cancellation of their season because of some early outbreaks. They have proven that if you just stay the course you can get back on track. The Cardinals missed almost 2 weeks of games at one point but are now only 3 games played behind the Cubs. The college football season will have many bumps in the road but it can be navigated and the MAC should be a part of that journey rather than watching from the sidelines.

They may be young and healthy and never show any symptoms but you have to quarantine to Stop The Spread! Do you understand?

Babies have died from flu

And we have a flu vaccine. Is that so hard for you to understand? The only way to stop the spread of COVID 19 is to wear a mask and social distance. You are essentially saying that everybody get it so you can enjoy mid-major football regardless of how many people die. You don’t seem to care if a baby dies, because babies have died from another illness in the past. How much more selfish can you get? I’m sure if it was your child you’d be fine with them getting covid-19 and me coming up to you and saying “Hey Klake, don’t be upset. People die from an unrelated illness. Now let’s go watch EMU vs Coastal Carolina!” Get over yourself.

The players will likely engage in equally-social activities if they are released from games/practice. At least with football season on, they'll have a more structured mask/cleaning discipline.

Very rare a baby dies from Covid, so sad in this case of course. Not a reason to shut down an industry or sport.

And we’re going to play football this fall?

Let’s just play football——these kids are on campus, go to restaurants, go to the grocery story, hang out—-etc.

If any of the roster gets sick it the story will be:

Xxxx has COVID and IS a football player, and
NOT has COVID BECAUSE he’s a football player.

60 thousand do not die from the flu annually! Most years 20 some thousand die from the flu. 60 thousand is an extreme year not a normal year. We are currently in the 6th month of this virus and already 200 thousand dead in America

It takes a lot of people to keep society running and fed properly.

Clemson's football team have had almost all of the players contract Covid. They will win national championship, guess virus didn't affect them

Many of them have not survived. That is the point. You have to decide if football is more important than a bunch of people dying. Probably not the players, but people they come in contact with.[/b]
