Lots of sick kids. Someone will argue that, "oh, well they won't die." Maybe, maybe not.

But at the end of the day, this is a game. We can wait a few more months or maybe a year, to watch a game again. It's not the end of the world, fans....

I know a guy who had coached youth football 10 years. His kid is 8th grade, i think daughter in HS. He has been vocal critic of governor, letting kids play football. He was in a discussion about sports on FB with friends about ramifications of covid spreading, kids giving up youth, long term health.

After a bunch of posts he finally says "both his kids tested positive." Never says how, when. To me, that's the narrow minded views we deal with. He was always for playing, in posts never believed in how virus spread. Now , like others, can't even acknowledge his kids have it? Also seems of attitude of my kids can't catch it, spread it, nothing happened to them and I can't control long term effects which I don't believe it or am in denial of.

Zero.

For 18-29 year olds there have been 798 deaths from COVID since 02/01/20 out of 36 946 total deaths in that age group. COVID killed less than the flu , 997 deaths, in that same age group, same time frame.

Lol, that's 997 pneumonia deaths....100 people died of the flu (Influenza) in that time frame. The source is your own chart, that you didn't read correctly.

Also, 1 player has died.

ESPN and the other networks are really the only potential source of revenue this fall and if the MAC is going to come back they are going to have to play when those networks say they have a time slot for them. Another option would be to try and partner with one of the bigger conferences or two and when games get cancelled they could play each other. I don't know how feasible that would be especially with the tv contracts. But lets say they find out a week in advance that Minnesota can't play Nebraska because of covid and Western Michigan can't play NIU because of covid. Then NIU can play Nebraska so at least those two teams can play and make some money. .

This is neither an option or even feasible. The B1G is playing conference games ONLY, period, end of discussion. That was the plan before they curtailed play because they wanted to compete against programs that were following the same protocols, testing policies, etc. Between the cost of testing, no revenue from fans, parking, concessions, etc., this season is going to be a financial disaster for every league. And the single biggest issue is going to be what happens if a player gets ill in a major way and ends up hospitalized.

I was simply saying that in order to make this work the MAC as a conference needs to think outside the box. There are many ideas that may or may not work and I gave a few. Head honchos from the BIG also said that there was no way that they were going to play in the fall after Trump declared progress was being made. Kevin Warren the commissioner said the fall season would not be revisited less than 2 weeks ago. A lot changes real quick and I don't believe anything that comes out of their mouths.

Teams like Ohio State would rather be 8-0 with a win over NIU and Toledo than 6-0 because they couldn't play Rutgers and Maryland. 8-0 looks a lot better than 6-0 compared to teams that may get their full ten games in.

As of today Football, Men’s Basketball and Men’s Golf teams placed into quarantine.
Obviously a number of cases have been detected within these groups.

Lol, don't you realize that COVID is not that dangerous for the 18-29 age bracket, lol.

Some people are prone to panic, and you're one of them, obviously....lol.

I'm not saying pneumonia isn't more dangerous than COVID. I also didn't say we should shut everything down. Or that all kids 18-29 are at risk.

I am however saying you didn't read your own chart correctly, because the 997 number also includes COVID deaths. And that put a false view of information out.

Understood, but the point being that COVID is less of a risk than other diseases for the age group. Most COVID cases in the under 29 age group are asymptomatic or relatively benign, with few deaths.

I concur with this statement. I'll admit that I believe it's overblown. It's dangerous, but less so for the younger crowd. It probably won't kill you, but you still should exercise reasonable effort to prevent catching and spreading it. With that being said, the world shouldn't shut down completely if you can be safe.

Either way, it's not a good thing for people to be arguing with each other on a football forum, when the reality is none of us really have control over the situation.

With that being said, I support the Huskies through and through. There's no use battling each other on here. I look forward to watching the boys take the field, whenever that may be.

Go Huskies.

Big question on the one death, is it directly attributable to playing FB or other causes?
NCAA FB averages about 2 player deaths a year.

I will let you in on a secret. If you wash hands, don't touch face, clean surfaces, sanitize, social distance and wear a mask you will be fine. If you have kids at college. Take extra precautions when they are home.

How may players have been hospitalized or died?

Lol, 997 pneumonia deaths, still more than than COVID. And some of the deaths are attributable, lol.

How may players have been hospitalized or died?
How many other people did these kids infect?

I will let you in on a secret. If you wash hands, don't touch face, clean surfaces, sanitize, social distance and wear a mask you will be fine. If you have kids at college. Take extra precautions when they are home.

I will let you in on a fact. If you have lineman hugging each other for three hours while sweating, panting and spitting in each other's faces, week after week, many are likely to get a virus that may not kill them, but is known to cause long-term heart scarring, lung problems, kidney damage, loss of smell and taste, balance issues, hair loss, neurological damage and other problems.

Oh, wait, never mind, Judge Jeannie said it's all a hoax. Make America Low-Information Again.

And please mention the psychological and economic
damage done. Rates of suicide and contemplating suicide up due to lockdown. It's doubled normal rates among youth populations. I'll post the studies if you
like. Easy enough to look up.
