Well, the players have started to "revolt". There has been a sea-change in player attitudes. Remember back in early August when PAC players were threatening a boycott if a laundry list of power-sharing and racial injustice and revenue and covid protocol demands weren't met? That's now apparently out the window and Oregon/USC players are just demanding to be allowed to play, LOL.

Don't underestimate the appeal of PAC football out west. No, it's not the same as at Alabama, Oklahoma, or Michigan.

But it's real.

If Ohio St. could spear head the Big 10's reversal, then USC is capable of spear heading the PAC's.

The decision making process of the BIG and PAC presidents is completely backwards.

Because there was uncertainty, they first cancelled / postponed the season.

Because other conferences are playing and apparently managing COVID health issues, they will restart the season.

Seems like the presidents don’t take college athletics seriously.

I don't see how you get to the CFP with that start date. They must be OK writing that off. FWIW, I don't think any other "P" conference would be.

Agreed but I think that's because all the other P5 conferences have legit contenders (Bama, Clemson, OU, Ohio St.).

Pac 12 still looking at 11/7, but the MWC is looking at 10/24.

I guess they could all get a 7th on ccg day.

Yep, they went from money sharing and power sharing and BLM and Covid protocol demands to .... "please sir let us play" in less than a month.
