Could be a lot of people like myself though. I could care less about the SJW crap, but our habits have changed a lot over the course of rona2020. Before I would go meet some friends and watch Titans at a sports bar but with all of the restrictions in place that's not really fun. And if I'm at the house I just have better things to be doing than sitting in front of the TV for 3 hours

Redzone is background if I'm at home. Luckily, our local beer joint doesn't follow the restrictions, so we watched the end of JAgs and the 4pm games there. I will say it was thinner than normal though since it was raining outside and no one wanted to sit outside.

Then the viewers will build ....

ESPN isn't going to let it die down.

They make it a point to show how many players kneel down for the anthem before they even show highlight one from the game.

They now treat their social justice agenda like it's part of the game.

I am telling you guys, this will die down.....

ESPN talking about it every night is one thing, and they will not stop doing that. But the production and what they air during the actual games will die down quickly.

We have Sunday Ticket at my local establishment where we watch these games, and almost none of them (1PM and 4PM games) even showed the National Anthem (either version). Commentators went there a little bit but it wasn't crazy..

That said, there was a much bigger deal made of it on the the Sunday night and Monday games where there were national audiences.

If the ratings continue to stay down and or drop further, you will see less and less coverage of that stuff........... guaranteed. NBA is setting the bar for what eyes on the TV will endure. Their ratings suck and they are doubling down on protest .... The NFL will not do that - waaaaay too much money at stake for them.

No one in NM is watching in sports bars. Restaurants can only have 25% capacity indoors. Our worthless Gov. has put the fear of god in them that she'd shut them down a third time. Patrons should be seated ASAP, order taken ASAP, they should eat ASAP and leave ASAP. One of her minions has encouraged restaurants with tvs to keep them turned off. Why go to a restaurant and be rushed?

Yea like in 2017 when fro boy was kneeling and they increased their online media rights money. Face it, these boycotts do not work

Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
I dont think this is a boycott. Its just people saying no thanks to a product that has moved in the wrong direction. Its like when Wendys got rid of their original burger and fries and produced the crap they have now....no thanks

Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk

What?

When did Wendy's do that? Haven't been in a while.

The more I read the more I come to the realization that sports were a habit to Americans. We would plop our tails down on the couch and watch whatever sport was in season. Thanks to Covid many Americans have broken that habit.

Speaking just for myself, I didn’t realize how much money and time I spent with sports until Covid. Between season tickets for LouCity soccer and UofL football with cash donation, I was spending $5,000 a year. This year I spent zero.

Haven’t missed it one bit. Didn’t even watch the Louisville game live the other night. First Louisville football home opener I’ve missed in 35 years.

Where it wil show more is in merchandise. Sure people may watch half hazardly but if you don't buy it hurts the pocketbook. I hope that where it bites them. If people don't buy it means that they aren't interested. Maybe nfl shops should sell cops are pigs socks in their stores in SF, they'll sell there.

Tech is getting points against us? No way the line is the same. EDIT: I just checked. We are laying 5.5 now. I'm putting the farm on La Tech and a M/L for them to win.

yeah...it's the covid 'bump' ... it's a coin flip if we play based on their covid numbers....it was ~40 last week...

regardless, their intramural team would beat our arse...

Apologist? No. Making fun of the virtue signaling, yes. Goes both ways.

Love makes you human, empathetic, and aware of your vulnerabilities.

Hate keeps you focused on what is most important to you and keeps you alert to what threatens it.

Indifference tells you where you are wasting your time.

All three are beneficial if you use them appropriately.

People mistakenly think hate is the opposite of love. They're wrong. The opposite of love is indifference.

Politicians on both sides of the aisle have been mostly indifferent to the working class for 30 years.

I concur, and take it back to LBJ....regardless, it's the consequence of 'growing gubbmint'...
