I just got back from Gulf Shores and there is one in Foley. They have a damn good burger and frozen custard. It is a few doors down from Whataburger and Five Guys. I would pick Culvers over the other two for sure.

There are a couple in middle TN. I expect west TN to follow.

Ok... I’ve finally had the Tops burger. It wasn’t the best ever, but it was a very good burger. I’d put it in the same category as Cookout.

I'll take a Whataburger before that, please... and a FREAKING Chewy's. I mean, if you're going to market off Tha Kang, you should have a location in Memphis.

Whataburger is fine and all.

A VERY weird fascination with ketchup though.

I can't think of a single thing that needs ketchup on it. Besides meatloaf.

Agreed vastly.

Ketchup is for children whose tastebuds need the sugar.

Then never live in the northeast. They put ketchup on everything. Even White Castles are served with ketchup instead of mustard. I found that out the hard way. It was a WTF moment.

The original burger starts with a 100% pure beef patty seasoned with just a pinch of salt and pepper, then topped with a tangy pickle, chopped onions, ketchup and mustard. It contains no artificial flavors, preservatives or added colors from artificial sources.* Our pickle contains an artificial preservative, so skip it if you like.

Yes sir.

Cookout was a great addition to Memphis. Much like Sonic, not nearly as expensive, and good portions.

Also their shakes are legit some of the best in all of fast food.

The best

I made that one of the two places we ate out in PCB last week.

Had Culvers in Foley/Gulf shores tonight always good

To take this thread further off the rails... How is Gulf Shores? I was supposed to be there last week, but that didn't work out.
It's tough. Lived there and here after retiring. God has blessed my family with some great times and memories for five years. All can be rebuild in time.

Yeah, I don't do much ketchup as an adult. However, their SPICY ketchup is a different animal. They also have a full assortment of other sauces, and the Jalapeno Ranch is a very good choice with fries.

Yeah, that's my point. When you're from out-of-town and ask a local where to go for a good burger, no one answers "our Cookout is awesome!".

I mean both are fine. Tops is just over-hyped.
