If Trump is right that others are in the pipeline and eventually can basically box the Palestinians in and force them to come to the table and work out a two nation plan and deal? Trump would pull off a truly historic feat that would go down as one of the most important accomplishments of any sitting POTUS.

At any rate...the Trump administration deserves a big thumbs up for this development.

Except anyone who has ever spent any time in Israel would know that two states is the worst possible outcome for peace.

Culturally the Muslims believe that any Muslim who murders, or accidentally kills a brother in a careless act (manslaughter) will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven as they know it.

Because of this when Palestinians are mixed in with the populace of Israel there can be no direct assault upon the Israelis because they could easily cause the deaths of fellow Muslims.

This is why tour busses in Israel have a Muslim driver and an Israeli guide (frequently former Mossad). That limits the likelihood that tour buses will be hit and it profits both the Israeli and Muslim population in Israel. It is why Palestinians now have seats in the Knesset.

Separate the two and open warfare to retake Israel can begin in earnest. The cultural ignorance of the complexities of life in Israel is rampant in the U.S. and frequently played upon

Whatever solution that brings peace is fine and If Trump can make that happen he will be a POTUS of high distinction historically for getting it done. Personally..Im not very optimistic that peace can be achieved in my lifetime...much less in the next 5 years.

I agree, but two states will bring just the opposite. Have you spent time in Israel? I have. And speaking with Palestinians as well as Israelis I can tell you both sides are very aware as to what happens with two separate states. It isn't the option that brings peace.

I'm all for Trump and celebrate the peace agreements he has signed already, but this one action would render them all moot and bring open hostilities to Israel.

The last 3 or 4 years do you know what one of the leading commodities it was that Israel has been purchasing? Lead. The number of nuclear bomb shelters being built in Israel is probably greater percentage wise than it was in the U.S. in the 50's. Everyone with means is building concrete lead lined reinforced bunkers with adequate air filtration, ample MRE's, separate sewage lines to septic tanks, and lead lined steel doors. Couple Iranian nuclear capability to talks of two states and that's what you get. It's virtually reminiscent of the tag line from that 80's movie War Games. "Want to play a game?" "Let's play global thermonuclear war." Israel is a nuclear power. The capabilities of he Iranians has to be assumed because of their connections to N. Korea and other such suppliers. It's not just a headline grabber, but a major red flag to those who realize the potentialities. It is why nobody has brokered a total peace there. The Arabs don't necessarily want peace, but they would love having 2 states. The best option in my opinion would be to continue to sign peace agreements with Arab states, to keep giving Palestinians representation in the government in Israel, and agree that this is the arrangement that best long term for peace.

These peace deals are important due to that fact that both the UAE and Bahrain now formally recognize Israel as a sovereign nation.

RE: No thread on historic peace accord?

Quote:President Donald Trump said Tuesday afternoon that up to nine additional nations could join a peace deal with Israel in the near future, including Saudi Arabia.

“We have many other countries [that are] going to be joining us and they’re going to be joining us soon,” Trump told reporters on the White House lawn. “We’ll have, I think, I mean I think seven, or eight, or nine. We’re going to have a lot of other countries joining us, including the big ones.”

“It’s not something that my critics thought was possible and now they say, ‘wow, that was a good idea,'” Trump continued. “I will say, it’s gotten rave reviews.”

About a minute later, Trump added: “I spoke with the king of Saudi Arabia, at the right time I do think they will come in, yes, I do. This is a very big and very historic moment.”

The remarks from the president come after he declared the “dawn of a new Middle East” on Tuesday afternoon during a signing ceremony of two peace deals between Israel and its neighbors.

“The deals between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, and Israel and Bahrain, involve the exchanging of ambassadors, establishment of embassies and co-operation on a range of fronts — including trade, security and tourism,” Fox News reported. “The agreements, known as the ‘Abraham Accords’ also allow Muslims to visit Islamic holy sites in Israel. Trump said the deals would form ‘the foundation for a comprehensive peace across the entire region.'”

The Abraham Accords Declaration states:

We, the undersigned, recognize the importance of maintaining and strengthening peace in the Middle East and around the world based on mutual understanding and coexistence, as well as respect for human dignity and freedom, including religious freedom.

We encourage efforts to promote interfaith and intercultural dialogue to advance a culture of peace among the three Abrahamic religions and all humanity.

We believe that the best way to address challenges is through cooperation and dialogue and that developing friendly relations among States advances the interests of lasting peace in the Middle East and around the world.

We seek tolerance and respect for every person in order to make this world a place where all can enjoy a life of dignity and hope, no matter their race, faith or ethnicity.

We support science, art, medicine, and commerce to inspire humankind, maximize human potential and bring nations closer together.

We seek to end radicalization and conflict to provide all children a better future.

We pursue a vision of peace, security, and prosperity in the Middle East and around the world.

In this spirit, we warmly welcome and are encouraged by the progress already made in establishing diplomatic relations between Israel and its neighbors in the region under the principles of the Abraham Accords. We are encouraged by the ongoing efforts to consolidate and expand such friendly based on shared interests and a shared commitment to a better future.

RE: No thread on historic peace accord?
I think this gathers steam as it moves along. MSM has largely ignored the entire thing from what I have observed, would mean giving the Drumpf a truly historic W.
But, you get SA on board and most of the rest of the region it puts the moollahs, Syria and the thug "leaders" of Palestine on a very uncomfy, crowded tiny island.

Turns out the possible key to this may not have been Israeli-Palestinian deal to get things moving, it may be that is the final piece to the puzzle. Our "leaders and experts" were wrong yet again for 35 years.

RE: No thread on historic peace accord?
Quote:On MSNBC’s MTP Daily Tuesday afternoon, host Chuck Todd revealed that he is so deep in the tank for the Democratic Party that he can’t even credit President Trump for the historic Middle East peace deal achieved by his administration. Just moments after a White House signing ceremony finalizing the agreement had concluded, Todd whined about feeling “uncomfortable” about Trump’s accomplishment.

“You know, Peter, this deal is a bit uncomfortable for a lot of observers to watch because it seems so transactional, it’s as if pulling out of the Iran deal is what got these Gulf states on board to do this, you know, to then recognize it,” Todd complained to White House correspondent Peter Alexander. The anchor fretted: “It feels like there is a lot of quid pro quos involved in this, that it isn’t something larger than that.”

Alexander warned that “the Palestinians are furious of course, because they feel they’ve been betrayed in this circumstance, not just by the Trump administration, which they have long felt, but also by these Gulf – these Arab Gulf states, as it relates to Jerusalem, the Palestinian cause, and to Al-Aqsa Mosque, which is in Jerusalem itself.”

Earlier in the exchange, Alexander expressed hope that a possible future Biden administration would return to the Obama-era policy of trying to appease Iran: “And the anticipation that if Joe Biden is to win the White House that he may be more inclined to re-engage Iran, certainly. President Trump withdrawing from the Iran nuclear deal. This administration has been very forceful in its condemnation of Iran.”

Turning away from the good foreign policy news for Trump, Todd made this dire proclamation: “This ceremony at the White House of course comes with just 49 days until the election here in the United States, as the President is facing a series of domestic crises that seem practically biblical – fires, floods and, yes, a plague.”

Given that Todd is a shill for the Biden campaign, it’s no wonder he would feel “uncomfortable” with any Trump success.

Quote:During a briefing at the White House Wednesday afternoon, White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany slammed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for calling historic Middle East peace deals between Israel, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain "a distraction." She also went after reporters for failing to ask a single question about the historic agreements, known as the Abraham Accords, which were signed at the White House yesterday.

"I will weigh into is the Middle East deal, the Middle East peace deal signed yesterday that I did not receive a single question about. That was the first time it’s happened in a quarter of a century," McEnany said. "If Obama and Biden had achieved this, it would look a lot different. You wouldn’t have Chuck Todd saying he’s uncomfortable with a deal that brings peace between the United Arab Emirates and Israel and Bahrain. You wouldn’t have CBS calling it, quote, a 'business deal.' And you wouldn’t have Nancy Pelosi calling it a 'distraction.' Maybe it’s a distraction from her visits to the hair salon, but those were significant agreements. First time in a quarter of a century; three peace deals in 29 days. It took 26 years for the prior peace deals."

A reminder of Pelosi's remarks last week:
