This and possible moves to weekday TV games is a big part of why I opted out this year. Very disappointing

I'm not passing judgement without knowing how many/which positions were wiped out from contact tracing.

One lesson that should be taken from the season so far is not to make premature, knee-jerk cancellations. I'm glad they didn't cancel Wednesday.

The problem I have is that they resumed practice prior to completing contact tracing.

Their process was doomed from the start.

Also, they knew about this MONDAY. It didn't just start on Wed.

+1000. Hard to mad given the situation and the fact they did what we should have done last week.

Disagree.

We had a handle on our situation. And the word is that we only had 2 but we were affected by contact tracing which we had a good understanding of.

On Wed, they had 11 CURRENT positives and it looks like they have had even more. They returned to practice prior to getting all the results of their followup testing results as well as not completing contact tracing.

This was mishandled. Total difference from our situation.

This is a failure of the FAU leadership.

If that is true, then FAU is totally at fault and owes us BIG.
How do you resume practice when you don't know who is infected or who was exposed.

From Wednesday

https://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/fau-...story.html

Quote:Taggart didn’t say if all the positive tests were by players or if members of the staff tested positive too. He added the 11 guys who tested positive are “not around anyone else” and that the program is working with student health services on contact tracing and were waiting on “some” results from Tuesday’s follow-up testing.

But highly unlikely it'll be on ESPN at 3:30.

This was huge for both schools and FAU messed up.

Come on guys, they were afraid to face the vaunted Georgia Southern triple option. Taggart took one look at the Campbell game and noped out of there.

No one is saying they were scared or didn't want to play.
What some are saying is that it looks like they didnt manage the situation well and likely made things worse by resuming practice before they had completed testing and contact tracing.

They likely really wanted to play us on ESPN especially after how we looked against Campbell. But desire lead to them not taking the necessary precautions and forcing them to cancel. They should have canceled on Wednesday knowing they shouldn't resume practices. Instead they tried to continue and ended up canceling anyway leaving GS no time to even attempt to schedule a new opponent.

That would have been the smart thing.

I imagine ESPN is not happy either...they had work crews onsite running cables this morning.
