RE: Army Game
I think we're going to see Bryant out there tomorrow for some meaningful work. Better tomorrow in the friendly confines of Nippert than in two upcoming road games.

Tulsa concerns me as a trap game; SMU concerns me because they score early and often. If a 5-0 start is going to happen, I don't have the confidence that Ridder alone can deliver it from the QB position. And I acknowledge that Ridder is a fine athlete and a leader. But some situations require a different skill set at the position and Bryant might bring that off the bench if he gets a sufficient opportunity to demonstrate his worth.

I agree we should see Bryant, I’m just not convinced that Fick agrees. Hopefully I’m wrong because I do think Bryant gives us a better chance to win the AAC and go undefeated.

RE: Army Game
To an old school coach like CLF, 27 starts means something. If two guys are close in ability, that is a major factor in who to play.

Lineup out today for tomorrow. Des is listed as the starter. No other surprises/changes listed at any other positions.

Our defense played good against Army but it’s just another mark against how poorly the offense has played.

Yep. We absolutely should have put up more than 24 and 28 against Army and USF.

And East Carolina beating USF 44-24 makes our wins look very weak thus far

UC hasn’t been tested by a good offense. We will those the rest of conference play.

This going to be an odd year. Lots of upsets and strange week to week results. I don’t have 10-0 or 9-1 as the bar for a successful season. My goal is stay healthy play all the games and win as many as you can. I would like to see at least 4 to 5 more wins this year buts it’s going to be extremely difficult to get through undefeated or even with one loss. Way too many things can go wrong and the schedule is about as brutal as it will get at this level. UC won’t have luxury of the Nippert crowd that would make the Memphis and Houston games easier. Road games were going to difficult and only UCF would have had a huge crowd so others will be about the same

Postgame with Florida head coach...he was calling out the university saying he wanted 90k in stands next week as governor had passed law to let attendance in games. Don't know the details, but maybe UCF will have packed house when we play down there. That would be tough for us.

Yes and no, I think. If we lose because of covid weirdness that’s one thing. If we lose because our QB is the sole player stinking up the joint I’ll be pissed.

RE: Army Game
Not saying we have a lot of room to grow offensively, but Army actually has a pretty good defense. Last year their unit finished #30 in the country in total defense. They held the citadel QB to 70 yards passing.
