Forget the fact that undoubtedly players/teams are going to end up catching it up there, but even worse, do they not realize there aren't even hospital beds for any potential injuries? And that's before even mentioning the fact that masks won't be mandated either for any audience that takes the bold move to show up at the games. It will be a mass casualty event for sure.

Zero Covid Deaths Among Students

Also, the tournament is more than a month away. I'm not blaming you for being a Karen and going into hysterics. The media has trained you to be like that.

South Dakota had the nation’s highest rate of positive tests over the last 14 days, according to the COVID Tracking Project. I sure wouldn't want to hang out at a basketball game in that area right now. I just find it ironic they'd pick this specific city to avoid Covid when it's in fact the hardest hit right now. But most likely that's why they picked it. They have no Covid restrictions and thus explains why the situation is so bad there. Sure it might be better in a month, but the trends say it's only getting worse, especially with a governor who is in denial. This in my opinion is most likely the reason Duke backed out. And I don't blame them. Is there even going to be a "bubble" like with the NBA tournament? I highly doubt it. Just better hope most of our players have already had it, because if they're going to get it, this is where it's going to happen.

IF New York/New Jersey was a country.

COVID DEATHS
1 - 173,867 USA 573 deaths per million
2 - 153,229 Brazil 719 deaths per million
3 - 113,032 India 82 deaths per million
4 - 85,704 Mexico 663 deaths per million
5 - 49,777 New York/New Jersey 1,756 deaths per million

DEATHS PER 1 MILLION OF POPULATION
1 - 1,756 New York/New Jersey
2 - 1,237 San Marino
3 - 1,036 Peru
4 - 893 Belgium
5 - 763 Andorra

Without New York and New Jersey, who handled the virus in a "beautiful" way, the US improves from #10 to #16 in deaths per million. The country of New York/New Jersey is the runaway global leader in deaths per million.

But thank God we have Liberals around to lecture us on how everyone is going to die in South Dakota because their governor is in denial.

I did not intend to turn this into a political thing. I was just commenting on how weird it was to move the tournament to what is in fact the area of the country that is being the hardest hit at this moment. It's as if the organizers were thinking, where can we "safely" schedule this to have no worries about it being cancelled again due to Covid. That HAD to have been their thinking. Otherwise WHY South Dakota?! Take politics out of it. The same mentality went into scheduling this that went into trying to reschedule the RNC to Jackonsville. And you see how that turned out.

They did not plan this Monday morning... They moved it weeks or probably months ago. It is kind of tough to predict where the virus is going to spike weeks ahead. And in all likelihood by the time the tournament comes around SD will no longer be a "hot spot"

Yep definitely a moving target.

It could be completely calmed down there by the time the tourney happens

You are the bozo that said that we play crap defense and Penny should be fired when we were #1 in the entire NCAA in field goal defense. Reaching the level of inane gabbering would be the intellectual achievement of a lifetime for you.
