Are we going to go back to the days of basically admitting everyone, especially if they check off the right boxes with respect to what school they come from, home situation, socio-economic factors, etc.? How is this going to effect our standings in various publications (USNWR, Forbes, etc.).

The racial and ethnic disparities of standardized testing continues to be a strong concern. The purpose of test-optional is to overcome the disparities that result from poor distribution of resources at the K-12 level to school districts in low-income communities.

Is that like saying "Poor kids are as smart as white kids?"

I agree some students are at a social economic or other disadvantages may need more help or a little lower bar, but I don't think this is the way.

I wish more kids would be encouraged to the JUCO route if they have lower scores or need more help due to other factors with a path to a bachelor's at a 4 year institution.

Why we keep spending huge money and giving out 1.5 trillion in student loan debt is beyond me when a decent amount of these students are over their academic heads or lack the dedication to finish.

I am fine with helping kids who can't afford college. But if you can't hit a minimum score, 1-2 years JUCO and carry a 3.0+ in core studies to prove you can make it at a 4 year institution.

And some should be going more trade school or vocational school.
