Trailer looks pretty good!

Just read the book for the first time a few months ago. Currently on Messiah.

RE: DUNE
As a fan of the Dune Series, both Herbert and Frank stories, I am tentatively excited for this movie. Hollywood has been pretty lackluster on a lot of things these last 2 to 3 decades, so I'm hoping there's no let downs here.

The reading get's a bit dry the further in you go. Wife listened to the audio books and by God Emperor she asked me what she had gotten herself into.

Damn... That's a pretty lengthy delay.

RE: DUNE
I read the original Dune book while backpacking solo around Europe out of college. I've always said I like to go back and re-read or the sequels but have never gotten around to it. I didn't know they were doing another movie adaptation. The one from the 80s isn't too good.

The Lynch Dune is an abomination. The SciFi (pre Syfy) Mini-Series does a great job with the first book, and the second mini-series, Children of Dune, combines the first two book sequels and its really good too.

RE: DUNE
Looks pretty sweet. Anyone know if this movie will cover all the events of the first book? Or will they split it up into two movies?

I saw this article
Quote:This new adaptation of Dune is expected to limit itself to covering roughly the first half of the book. (Legendary [films] has not yet given a green light to a sequel, though a spinoff based on witchy, eugenics-focused Bene Gesserit was ordered.)
