Ugh! There's something ugly going on between the Auburn QB Nix and the wide receiver Seth Williams. Nix hasn't thrown a catchable ball to him and when he made receptions Williams had to adjust to the pass and then Nix had words with him and the next few passes to Williams look like he deliberately ran the wrong route. The last route broken off cost a third interception and the 21st point of of those interceptions.

Chad Morris's offensive calls and his personnel decisions in this game and the last 2 have left a lot to be desired.

South Carolina is playing hard and I'm not taking away from their effort, but clearly there are issues on this Auburn team.

Was Williams on the right side on that last drive? With 22 seconds left Nix runs around for 13 seconds for 10 yards on 3rd and 15. He immediately had a wide open receiver on the right he could have thrown it to and gained the 10 yards and still had 15-16 seconds left instead of 9. On 4th down he runs for the full 9 seconds and gets tackled short of the FD when he had another receiver open in that right side who could have gotten the first down.

And with the trips on the right side, it was a logical play to have the first two effectively screen the defenders and leave the back guy open to the outside. It was the play I called before 3rd down.

Bullet under Malzahn there has been zero QB development. Stidham's development all occurred at Baylor. We had some big kids with good credentials who were never taught a damned thing like one named Williams a few years back and even Marshall who played under Gus's first year was developed to run the spread in high school and was never worked with on passing technique. It's been a disgusting thing to watch for QB's and criminal thing to watch with RB's as he traditionally runs 1 main back until the kid gets injured. If we hadn't been paying off two former coaches his but would have already been gone.

When the kids are healthy he can pull out a big win, and in a great year two, but has consistently lost 4 games a year since his second year as coach.

Nix hasn't been drilled until the timing is reflexive and he still panics when plays don't develop quickly. And that is lack of coaching and the personnel on the field are seldom the best for the plays that are called and that is purely Chad Morris who has no business coaching at Auburn.

We need more data points to answer that. Just recall how Mississippi State was viewed after beating LSU. Just look at them now.
