Remember... we're breaking in a sophomore QB who is only 21-34 passing for 134 yards and zero TD's for his career. This is the most inexperienced QB we've started in a while.

The game will go how Watson goes.
It's also game 1 for us, so there's bound to be some stumbling and rust we need to shake off. I'll just take a win, even if it's by a field goal. And then there's Lindsey, who has the pieces for success but still hasn't proven he knows how to be a head coach. So lots of question marks right now, but mainly need to shake off the dust with this game. And bring the Palladium home. We can blow them out in the home game.

Someone needs to tell Chris Childers and Art Neuheisel on SiriusXM's Full Ride show that we're not the "dead last" FCS conference. Apparently they haven't been paying attention to anything other than P5 games otherwise they'd know how we stack up with the rest of the G5.

I guess they don't keep up with the Big12 after 3 losses to the belt.

I hope it gets to bumped to CBS instead of CBSSports like our game vs Southern Miss. getting to CBS will gets a lot more eyes vs what CBS is showing...

I need a good game to watch this, Come on App State, get that win.

Whoops...might as well have. These pundits don't know what to do with the SEC and B1G not playing...it's like they have to focus on programs ACTUALLY doing something with their players instead of sitting on the sidelines and somehow still outranking the teams still playing.

For the vast majority of media covering college football it is the P5 and then the 'rest'. So unless you are a G5 team - of covering G5 specifically - the mainstream sports media don't take an interest in the G5.

RE: Week 3 Sunbelt Projections
Greetings from MU fan. I posted this on our site this afternoon:

App - was a great rivalry back in the day. We basically did what they did in I-AA, then they have done very well (like we did initially) in the move up to FBS. The youngest RS freshman on each team were diaper babies the last time we played. For the players, this can't feel like a rivalry game. A great opportunity to see where we are vs arguably the best success story in FBS since they joined the Belt...…

Should be a good game!
Go Herd!!

Thanks for coming over and posting.

I agree, for the young bloods this is certainly not a rivalry. But for old guys like me (I graduated from App State in 94) this feels like a reborn rivalry 03-wink

Go Apps! Fight Apps! Win Apps !!! :) - though some shout Kick Ass instead of Win Apps at that part of the fight song.

Personally, I thought last weekend was one of the most interesting weeks I can remember exactly because the SEC and B1G were not sucking up all the oxygen.

If we only beat MTSU by 7, it will be a long year.

It’s the first game of the season for us while MTSU already played a game.
This could be a huge factor this early in the season.

RE: Week 3 Sunbelt Projections
The App/Marshall game is a hard one to figure out, so it's understandable that most folks are concerned. The homer in me still believes we should win this one by 2 or 3 scores, but the realist knows that is far from a "given." App looked sloppy last week and Marshall looked very good against a pretty bad opponent two weeks ago. If this is a close one because both teams are playing lights out, I can live with the outcome. If it's another sloppy game for App, I'm going to be very disappointed. I don't think that's going to happen though.

I'm going to pick App by 8 in a well played game.

Boy did our bye week fall on the right week. Campus will be shut down through Friday due to Sally. Then we have our short week to prepare for UAb to come to town.
